POS reports for sales, stock, tax and cash
Thirty-one reports cover what you sold, what you made, what you owe and what is on the shelf. Each one below has its own page showing what it contains, the filters it takes and who it is for.
End of day Z report
The till's daily sale report: sales, tips, payouts and payments by method, printed as a Z report.
Daily sales report
Each day's sales by category, tender and tax, on screen or emailed as a PDF at closing time.
Profit and loss
Gross and net profit for any period, with profit broken out by product, category, brand, location, invoice, date, customer and day.
Purchase and sale
Purchases, sales, returns and amounts due side by side, with one overall figure for the period.
Tax report
Output tax on sales against input tax on purchases and expenses, with the details behind each figure.
Customer supplier report
Sales, purchases, returns and balance due for every customer and supplier, filterable by group and type.
Customer group report
Total sales for each customer group, such as wholesale, staff or VIP, over any date range.
Stock report
Current stock per product with its value at cost and at sale price, potential profit and margin.
Stock expiry report
Stock left in each lot with its manufacture and expiry dates, so expired units can be written off with a stock adjustment.
Lot report
Every lot number with its current stock, units sold, units adjusted and expiry date.
Stock adjustment report
Normal and abnormal stock write-offs for the period, the amount recovered and every adjustment behind them.
Trending products
A chart of your top products by quantity sold, filtered by location, category, brand, unit and date.
Items report
Each item from purchase to sale: supplier and cost on one side, customer and selling price on the other.
Product purchase report
Every product bought, with supplier, reference, date, quantity, adjusted quantity, unit price and subtotal.
Product sales report
Sales by product, customer and category, down to a time range, in detailed or grouped views.
Purchase payment report
Every payment to suppliers, with reference, paid-on date, amount and payment method.
Sales payment report
Every customer payment received, filtered by customer, location, customer group and payment method.
Expense report
Spending totalled by expense category, with a chart, for any location and date range.
Register report
Every cash register session with user, location, open and close times, and cash, card slip and cheque totals.
Sales representative report
Each user's total sales, sales returns, commission and expenses for the period, with a tab for each.
Table report
Total sales for each restaurant table, for any location and date range.
Service staff report
Orders and line orders handled by each server or waiter, for any date range and location.
Activity log
An audit trail of back-office actions, filterable by user, record type and date.
Balance sheet
Assets such as customer dues, closing stock and account balances set against supplier dues and liabilities.
Trial balance
Debit and credit totals for supplier dues, customer dues, payment accounts and capital, ready to print.
Cash flow
Every debit and credit on your payment accounts, with a running balance, filtered by account, date and type.
Payment account report
Payments listed by the account they went to, with Link Account for payments not yet linked.
Receivables payables ageing
Accounts receivable and accounts payable grouped by age, each as a summary and a detailed report.
Manufacturing report
Total production, total production cost and current stock of manufactured items, from your production runs.
CRM reports
Follow-ups by user and by contact, plus lead-to-customer conversion for each person, in the CRM module.
Hotel booking report
Bookings, guests, nights and amounts for any date range, split by status, with booking-size breakdowns.
At the till and in the back office
The app has the Daily Sales Report, which prints as the end-of-day Z report on the receipt printer: bills, gross and net sales, discounts, returns, tips, payments by method, orders by type, and item, category and modifier sales, for today or any date range. It is the report most owners read every night.
The rest live in the web back office. Filter by location and date range, then print or export. Sales, profit and loss, tax, stock value, expiry, lots, purchases, payments, expenses, registers, tables, service staff and the activity log each have their own report, and the Daily Sales Report can be emailed to you each night.
Standard and advanced reports
Standard includes the standard reports, including the end-of-day Z report in the app. Pro adds the advanced back-office reports. The Accounting add-on brings the balance sheet, trial balance, cash flow and receivables and payables ageing, and the Manufacturing, CRM and Hotel modules each add reports of their own.
Frequently asked questions
Does SeroPOS have an end-of-day Z report?
Yes. In the app, open the drawer and tap DSR (Daily Sale Report). Pick today or another period and print it on the receipt printer as the Daily Sales Report and Z report. It shows sales, discounts, returns, tips, payouts, payments by method, orders by type and item and category sales, so you can close the till against it.
Can I see reports for each location?
Yes. Every back-office report takes a location filter, so you can look at one store or all of them together, along with a date range. The Daily Sales Report can be emailed per location to the people you choose at the time you set, and the dashboard can be filtered by location too.
Can I export SeroPOS reports?
Yes. Back-office reports can be printed or exported from their tables, and the Daily Sales Report downloads as a PDF or goes by email. The Accounting add-on's working papers put the trial balance, balance sheet, profit and loss and ledger into one Excel file for your accountant.
Is there a sales tax report?
Yes. The Tax Report shows input tax on purchases, output tax on sales and tax on expenses, with the overall difference and details by invoice. The Daily Sales Report also breaks sales into net, GST and PST with a tax summary for remittance, which suits Canadian businesses filing GST/HST and provincial returns.
