How these comparisons are written
Each page compares SeroPOS with one well-known system, such as Square, Toast, Clover or Lightspeed. The SeroPOS column describes screens and settings you can open today. The other column sticks to general, widely published facts as of 2026, and we do not quote other companies' prices, which change often.
Every system here is used by successful businesses. The point is to help you see where the differences lie for your kind of business, then check them yourself.
What to check in any POS
Whichever system you choose, ask the same questions: can it run on devices you already own, does it tie you to one card processor, what happens when the internet drops, does it connect to the accounting software you use, and can you leave without a contract penalty? The 14-day SeroPOS trial lets you answer them for SeroPOS with your own menu.
Frequently asked questions
How is SeroPOS different from other POS systems?
SeroPOS runs on iPad, Android, Windows and Mac with standard printers, so you are not tied to branded hardware. It works with terminals from three processors, keeps selling offline, has a built-in kitchen display, includes kiosk mode on the Standard plan, and connects to QuickBooks Desktop as well as Online on Pro. Plans are monthly with no contract.
Do I have to use a particular card processor?
No. SeroPOS works with integrated terminals from Global Payments, Moneris and Gravity Payments, and you can record card payments from a standalone terminal too. Your subscription is the same whichever you use. If you want to compare rates, send us a statement and we'll quote a rate.
Are these comparisons up to date?
They describe each system as of 2026, using general, publicly available information. Other companies change their plans and features, so check the details on their own websites before you decide. If you spot something that is out of date, tell us and we will correct the page.
Can I move my data from another POS?
Yes. Products, opening stock, customers and suppliers import from spreadsheets, and past sales can be imported too, with an option to revert a batch. If your books are in QuickBooks Desktop, an import reads them through a read-only connection. Demo data lets staff practise before the switch.
