Draw the floor: tables, counters and fixtures.
What you get

Floor plan designer in SeroPOS

Drag-and-drop tables

Add a table, drag it into place and double-click it to set its name, shape, seats and size.

Round, square or rectangle

Each table can be round, square or rectangular, so the map matches the furniture you actually have.

About 30 room elements

Place a cash counter, bar, entrance, restroom, booths and custom text labels so new staff can find their way.

Floor colours and patterns

The Floor tab sets the background and pattern colours, which helps separate a patio from the main room.

Move, align and delete

Object controls line tables up neatly, and Clear All gives you a blank floor when you rearrange for an event.

Saved to every till

Save Floor Plan stores the layout on the server, so server and client tills all open the same map.

Draw the room the way it really looks

The Floor Plan Designer opens from the side drawer or from the Table Selection screen. It has three tabs: Tables, Elements and Floor. On the Tables tab you add a table and drag it to where it sits in the room. Double-click it to open Table Properties, where you set the table name, its shape, the number of seats and its width and height. A four-top by the window and a long banquet table can sit side by side at their true sizes.

The Elements tab holds about 30 fixed objects such as a cash counter, bar, entrance, restroom and booth, plus custom text. These do not take orders, but they make the map readable. A server on their first shift can see that table 12 is the one next to the restroom, without asking anyone.

Tidy layouts in a few minutes

Object Controls let you move, align and delete whatever you have selected, so rows of tables line up instead of drifting. If you rearrange the room for a private event or a summer patio, Clear All empties the canvas and you can rebuild from scratch. The Floor tab sets the background and pattern colours, which is a simple way to mark different areas of the restaurant.

When the layout is right, press Save Floor Plan. The plan is stored on the server rather than on one device, so it survives a tablet swap or a reinstall. You do not need to redraw it on each till. If you change the layout later, open the designer again, make the change and save, and every till picks up the new version.

From the designer to the dining room

Once a plan is saved, choosing Dine-in on the home screen opens the floor plan instead of a plain grid. Each table shows its status in colour, its seat count and the server's name. Staff tap a free table to start an order or a busy one to open its bill. If no plan has been drawn yet, SeroPOS falls back to a table grid view, so you can start selling before the map is finished.

Because the plan lives on the server, it works across a server till and its client tills on the same network. A host stand, a bar terminal and a server's tablet all look at the same room. When the host seats a party, the table turns red on every screen, so two servers never try to seat the same table at once.

Who can edit the plan

The Floor Plan Designer is part of the Pro plan. Editing is protected by its own admin login, Floor Plan Designer Access, so a server cannot move tables around by accident during a busy service. Everyone else simply uses the saved plan from the Table Selection screen. Owners and managers who know the login can still adjust the plan between services.

The designer is a restaurant tool, so it is hidden when a till runs in Retail Mode. Tables themselves, with their seats and booking duration, can also be managed per location in the web back office under Tables. There you can add tables before you draw them, so the designer already has every table ready to place.

Frequently asked questions

Which plan includes the Floor Plan Designer?

The Floor Plan Designer is a Pro plan feature. Pro is $50 a month for one location and five users. You can try it during the 14-day free trial, which includes every feature and does not ask for a card. On Standard, tables still work through the table grid view.

Can I have different table shapes and sizes?

Yes. Double-click any table in the designer to open Table Properties. You can set the shape to round, square or rectangle, and set the number of seats, the width and the height. That lets the map match a mix of two-tops, booths and long tables.

Do I need to draw the floor plan on every till?

No. Save Floor Plan stores the layout on the server, so every till that signs in to the business sees it. It also works across server and client tills in Server / Client mode, so a host stand and server tablets share the same map.

What happens if I haven't drawn a floor plan yet?

SeroPOS shows Table Selection as a grid view of your tables instead. Staff can still pick tables and take dine-in orders. When you save a floor plan later, the Dine-in button opens the map from then on. Many restaurants start with the grid and draw the plan once the room is settled.

Can staff change the layout during service?

Only someone with the Floor Plan Designer Access login can open the designer. Servers use the saved plan to pick tables but cannot move or delete them, which keeps the map stable during a busy shift. Owners can change the plan between services and save it for every till.
