Labels from the products you already have
Products without a barcode slow the counter down. Staff search by name, pick the wrong size, or key in a price. Printing your own labels fixes that. In the web back office, open Products › Print Labels, add the products you want, and set how many labels each needs, such as one per unit on the shelf.
Each label carries the product's SKU as a barcode, so a scan at the till adds the right item every time. Labels also make stocktakes faster, since staff can scan shelves with a scanner instead of reading names, and they cut the mistakes that come from picking a lookalike product by hand.
Pick what prints
For each print run, choose what appears on the label: product name, variation, price including or excluding tax, your business name, lot number, expiry date and packing date. A deli might print name, price, packing and expiry dates. A clothing shop might print name, size and price. Each run is set separately.
Lot, expiry and packing dates can be set for the batch, which suits food prepared in-house that needs dated labels. Set them once for the run and every label in that batch carries the same dates, so a tray of sandwiches or a batch of baked goods is labelled in one step.

Match your label stock
Settings › Barcode Settings stores sticker presets. Each has a name, a choice of continuous roll or sheet, margins, sticker width and height, paper width and height, stickers per row, row and column gaps and stickers per sheet. Set one as the default and pick others when you change label stock.
Choose a preset on the Print Labels screen, preview the result, and print from your browser to your label or office printer. A quick preview avoids wasting a sheet of labels on a misaligned print, which matters when label stock is expensive. Print a test sheet on plain paper first if you are unsure.
Barcode types and the till
Each product has a barcode type: Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A or UPC-E. Code 128 handles any SKU, including letters, so it is the safe default for your own codes. Products that already carry a manufacturer EAN or UPC barcode do not need a label; enter that code as the SKU and it scans as it is.
Labels are printed from the web back office. The SeroPOS till app scans barcodes with a USB scanner or the camera, but it does not print labels itself. That keeps label printing in one place, where the presets and sticker sizes are stored, while every till can read the labels you print.
Frequently asked questions
How do I print barcode labels in SeroPOS?
In the web back office, open Products › Print Labels. Add the products and quantities, choose what to show on each label and a barcode sticker setting, preview, then print from your browser. Save a preset as the default to speed up future runs.
What label sizes are supported?
You set them. Settings › Barcode Settings stores presets with sticker width and height, paper size, margins, gaps, stickers per row and per sheet, and a choice of sheet or continuous roll. Measure your label stock and enter the figures once.
Which barcode types can I print?
Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A and UPC-E. Each product's barcode type is set on the product form. Code 128 is a good choice for your own SKUs because it accepts letters and numbers. Choose the type to match any barcode already on the product.
Can I print labels from the POS app?
No. Labels are printed from the web back office in a browser. The SeroPOS app scans barcodes with a USB scanner or the device camera but does not print labels. Any till can scan the labels once they are printed.
Can labels show expiry dates?
Yes. Print Labels lets you add lot number, expiry date and packing date to labels, which suits food packed in-house and other dated goods. Set the dates for each print run, so every label in the batch carries the same information.
