IndustriesAdd-on module

POS for phone repair shops

A phone repair shop takes in a cracked screen at ten, promises it by four and gets three calls in between asking if it is ready. SeroPOS logs each device on a job sheet, texts the customer when the status changes and gives them a page to check for themselves.

Phone repair shops in SeroPOS

Job sheets at intake

Record the customer, brand, device, model, serial or IMEI, problem, condition and accessories left with it.

Passcode or pattern

Store the passcode or draw the pattern lock on the job sheet, so the technician can test the phone.

Pre-repair checklist

Each device model carries its own checklist, such as camera, speaker and Face ID, ticked at intake.

SMS status updates

When the status changes, send the customer an SMS from the template for that status.

Repair status page

Customers look up their repair by job sheet number on a public page, with no login.

Parts and accessories

Sell screens, cases and chargers from the same POS, with stock tracked as you use them.

Intake in a couple of minutes

The Repair add-on module adds job sheets to SeroPOS. At the counter, choose or add the customer, pick carry-in, pick-up or on-site, then the brand, device type and model, and enter the serial or IMEI. Record the problem reported, the condition and the accessories left, such as a case or SIM tray, as quick tags. Add photos of the damage so nobody argues about a scratch later.

Enter the passcode, or draw the pattern lock on the sheet, so the technician can test the phone after the repair. Set the estimated cost, the expected delivery date and the technician. Print the job sheet with your terms and conditions and a signature block, and stick a device label with a barcode on the phone or its bag.

Checklists by device model

In Repair settings, add the device models you work on and give each one a checklist: front camera, rear camera, speaker, microphone, charging port, Face ID or fingerprint, Wi-Fi. When a job sheet is created for that model, the checklist appears so staff record what worked before the repair. That protects the shop when a customer says the speaker was fine when they dropped it off.

Settings also hold your default problem, condition and configuration values, up to five custom fields with your own labels, the job sheet number prefix and the terms printed on every sheet. The product form gains a device model field, so screens and batteries can be filtered by the models they fit.

Statuses, texts and the status page

Statuses are yours to define, with a name, colour and order: Received, Diagnosing, Waiting for Parts, Ready for Pickup. Mark one as completing the job. Each status can carry an SMS template, and when a technician changes the status, they can send it to the customer, so the text saying the phone is ready goes out without anyone typing it.

Customers can also check for themselves on the public repair status page. They enter the job sheet or invoice number, with the serial if you require it, and see the current status in its colour, the device and the history of changes. Fewer calls asking whether it's ready means more time at the bench.

From bench to invoice

Technicians see only the job sheets assigned to them unless you give them access to all, and the Repair dashboard charts jobs by status and by technician, plus the devices, models and brands you see most. When the work is done, create the repair invoice from the job sheet; it carries the device, serial, defects, checklist and warranty on the printed invoice.

Take payment at the till like any other sale, with cards on an integrated terminal. Screens, batteries and accessories are ordinary products with stock, so the parts you use and the cases you sell come off inventory. Warranties attached to a repair or a part print on the invoice with their expiry date.

Frequently asked questions

What is a repair job sheet?

It is the record of one device in for repair: customer, device, model, serial or IMEI, passcode or pattern, the problem, its condition, accessories, photos, estimate, promised date and technician. In SeroPOS it prints with your terms and a signature block and becomes the repair invoice when the job is done.

Can customers check their repair status online?

Yes. The repair status page is public and needs no login. The customer enters their job sheet or invoice number, with the serial number if you ask for it, and sees the current status, the device and the history of status changes.

Does SeroPOS text customers when the repair is ready?

Yes. Each repair status can have an SMS template. When staff change a job to that status, they can send the message to the customer, so Ready for Pickup goes out without typing. SMS settings are configured in the back office.

Is repair included in the Standard plan?

Repair is an add-on module on top of your SeroPOS plan. Standard is $30 a month and Pro is $50, and the Repair module is added to either. Contact us for the add-on price, and start with the 14-day free trial.

Can I track phone parts inventory too?

Yes. Screens, batteries and other parts are products with stock, alert quantities and suppliers. Product records can carry the device model they fit, and the product list filters by device model, so staff find the right screen quickly. Alert quantities flag the parts you are running short of.
