Global Payments T650P with SeroPOS

The Global Payments T650P is an Android handheld card terminal, and with Terminal Plus SeroPOS runs on it directly. One device takes the order, sends it to the kitchen and takes the card, at the table or along a line-up.

Global payments T650P in SeroPOS

SeroPOS on the terminal

Terminal Plus runs the full SeroPOS app on the T650P, so the terminal is the till.

Compact layout

A layout built for the T650P's small screen, with a slim toolbar, bottom tabs and compact cart and payment sheets.

Card on the same device

Card payments go to the terminal's own payment app, with no cable, pairing or IP address.

Orders to the kitchen

Hold an order at the table and its kitchen ticket prints on your kitchen printer.

Clear recovery options

If a tap fails, the payment dialog offers a safe retry, a check on the terminal or another tender.

Day-end from the menu

The terminal menu shows card history, reprints the last card receipt and closes the batch.

What Terminal Plus means

Most card terminals sit beside the till and wait for an amount. Terminal Plus turns that around: SeroPOS is installed on the Global Payments terminal and talks to the terminal's payment app on the same device. The till, the order screen and the card reader are one handheld that a server can carry around the room.

On the terminal, SeroPOS asks whether to use Terminal Plus on this device. Say yes and card payments go straight to the built-in payments app. If the app cannot find it, it tells you the payments app was not found so you can check the terminal's setup. SeroPOS also registers itself in the terminal's app launch list.

  • Install SeroPOS on the terminal
  • Set the terminal to Semi-Integrated Internal mode

A layout made for a 360 by 640 screen

The T650P's screen is small, so SeroPOS uses its compact layout there: a 44dp toolbar, a 46dp bottom navigation bar, and compact cart, payment and modifier sheets sized for the smaller screen. It follows the phone screens, with Home, Categories and Cart tabs and a red count badge on the cart.

A draggable speed dial gives quick access to Resume order, Tables, Cash pay out and Clear. The payment screen shows the amount due, payment method chips, amount received, tip and an Adjust option for discount, points, shipping or split, with Pay & Print at the bottom. The compact layout is the same one SeroPOS uses on small Android and iOS phones.

Ordering and paying at the table

For a full-service room, a server can pick a table from the floor plan or table grid, add items with their variations and modifiers, and tap HOLD. The order is saved and the kitchen ticket prints on the station printers you mapped in KOT Mapping. When the table is ready to pay, resume the order, and the card is taken on the same handheld.

Split bills work on the handheld too: even, by percentage, by item or custom amounts, each leg with its own tender. Tips the guest enters on the terminal come back to the sale and print as Tip or Gratuity. For a line-up at a food truck or a festival, the same device takes the order at the window and charges the card on the spot.

When a card does not go through

Handhelds move around and Wi-Fi drops out in corners. The Global Pay payment dialog shows Processing, then Approved, Declined, Not Completed or Failed, and offers clear next steps: Cancel if the card was not tapped yet, Tap Card Again as a safe retry, Check on Terminal, Retry with another card, or Use Another Payment Method.

Approved charges are written to a holding queue before the sale is saved, so an approved payment is not lost if the connection drops at the wrong moment. A decline shows a red screen and an alarm. At day end, use the terminal menu to print a batch summary and close the batch, or restart the terminal app if it needs it.

Frequently asked questions

Can SeroPOS run on the Global Payments T650P?

Yes. With Terminal Plus, SeroPOS runs on the T650P itself and sends card payments to the terminal's own payments app. The app uses a compact layout made for the T650P's screen. The terminal needs to be set to Semi-Integrated Internal mode for SeroPOS to take payments on it.

Can I take orders and payments at the table with the T650P?

Yes. Pick the table, add items and modifiers, and hold the order to send its kitchen ticket. When the guests are ready, resume the order and take the card on the same device. Split bills and terminal tips are supported on the handheld.

Do I need a separate till if I use the T650P?

Not necessarily. A small counter or food truck can run entirely on the handheld. Many restaurants also keep a tablet or PC at the counter for the full-size sale screen, Quick Service Mode, a kitchen display or a customer display, which need a larger screen than the T650P has.

What happens if the T650P loses Wi-Fi during a payment?

Approved charges are saved to a holding queue before the sale is recorded and replayed later, so the payment is not lost. The dialog offers Check on Terminal to confirm whether the card was charged before trying again. Sales taken offline are stored on the device and uploaded when it reconnects.

How do I get a T650P and a processing rate?

The terminal comes with a Global Payments merchant account. If you would like a quote, send a recent processing statement to payments@seropos.app and we'll quote a rate. Once the terminal is set up, install SeroPOS on it and turn on Terminal Plus.
