Global Payments Terminal Plus

Terminal Plus puts the till and the card reader in one hand. SeroPOS runs as an app on the Global Payments T650P, so a server can take the order, run the card and print the receipt without walking back to the counter.

What you get

Global payments terminal plus in SeroPOS

POS on the terminal

SeroPOS installs on the T650P and talks to the payments app on the same device, with no network link to a separate till.

Compact handheld layout

On the T650P's small screen, SeroPOS switches to a compact layout with a short toolbar, a bottom navigation bar and a compact cart.

Pay without handing off

The payment screen shows the amount due, payment chips, amount received and tip, then Pay & Print in one step.

In the launch list

SeroPOS registers in the terminal's launch list, so staff open it from the terminal like its other apps.

Same safety net

The Global Pay Payment dialog keeps its recovery buttons, including Check on Terminal and Tap Card Again, Safe Retry.

Same menu and reports

The handheld uses the same products, prices and tables as your other tills, and its sales appear in the same reports.

What Terminal Plus is

Most card terminals sit next to a till and wait for the till to send them an amount. With Terminal Plus, the Global Payments T650P is the till. SeroPOS runs on the terminal's Android system and hands the payment to the Global Payments app on the same device, then gets the result back. Ordering, payment and the printed receipt all happen on the one handheld.

That suits places where the customer is not standing at a counter: tables on a patio, a line at a food truck window, a market stall or a delivery handed over at the door. Staff carry the device to the customer instead of carrying the card to the till. It also saves counter space, since there is no separate till and card reader to find room for.

Built for a small screen

The T650P has a phone-sized screen, so SeroPOS uses its compact layout there. The toolbar and bottom navigation are slimmer, and the cart, payment and modifier screens open as compact sheets. Product buttons stay large enough to tap with a thumb, and the sale screen keeps the categories and search you use on a full-size till.

The phone payment screen shows Amount due, the payment method chips, Amount received and Tip, with Adjust for discount, points, shipping or a split. Pay & Print finishes the sale and prints the receipt on the terminal's own printer. Tips entered on the terminal print on the receipt as Tip / Gratuity, and the payment safety net that protects counter tills works the same way on the handheld.

Setting it up

Your Global Payments terminal needs to be in semi-integrated internal mode, which Global Payments sets for you. Install SeroPOS on the T650P, sign in, then open Settings and Global Payments. SeroPOS checks that the payments app is on the device and asks Use Terminal Plus on this device? Confirm, and SeroPOS registers itself in the terminal's launch list.

If SeroPOS says Payments app not found, the terminal is not yet set up for semi-integrated use. Ask Global Payments to switch it over, then try again. Once set up, run a small test sale and void it from Recent Transactions to check the round trip. Keep a second card terminal or till nearby for the first day, so a set-up question never holds up service.

  • Ask Global Payments for semi-integrated internal mode
  • Install SeroPOS on the T650P and sign in
  • Open Settings, then Global Payments
  • Confirm Use Terminal Plus on this device
  • Run and void a test sale

Working alongside your other tills

A Terminal Plus handheld is another till in your business. It reads the same menu, prices, modifiers and tables, so an order started on the handheld can be finished at the counter and the other way round, as long as both are online. Held orders and table status are shared through the cloud.

Its card payments, tips and refunds show up in the same daily sales report, register report and sales payment report as the rest of the business. Close the batch from the terminal menu with Close Batch & Print Day-End Report, or print a batch summary without closing it. Managers see the handheld's takings alongside every other till.

Frequently asked questions

What is Global Payments Terminal Plus?

Terminal Plus lets a POS app run on the Global Payments terminal itself rather than on a separate till. With SeroPOS, the T650P handheld becomes a complete till: you build the order, take the card payment through the Global Payments app on the same device, and print the receipt from the terminal's printer.

Which terminal does SeroPOS Terminal Plus run on?

SeroPOS runs on the Global Payments T650P, an Android handheld. SeroPOS has a compact layout made for screens of that size. The terminal must be set to semi-integrated internal mode by Global Payments, otherwise SeroPOS reports that the payments app was not found.

Can I use a T650P handheld with my other SeroPOS tills?

Yes. The handheld is simply another till in the same business, so it shares your menu, prices, tables and held orders. It needs its own user login. Its sales, card payments and tips appear in the same back-office reports as your counter tills and any other handhelds.

Does Terminal Plus work without the internet?

Card payments need the terminal's connection to Global Payments. SeroPOS keeps selling through short internet drops and syncs sales when the connection returns, but card approval itself depends on the processor, so plan for a working data or Wi-Fi connection wherever the handheld is used.

How do I get a T650P for SeroPOS?

The terminal comes from Global Payments with your merchant account. Ask them for a T650P set up for semi-integrated internal mode. If you are comparing processors, send us a recent card processing statement and we'll quote a rate, then help you get the terminal set up with SeroPOS.
