POS on your phone
Sometimes the till needs to fit in a pocket: on a patio, at a market stall, or walking a line-up. SeroPOS has its own phone layout for iPhone and Android, with the same menu, customers and reports as the counter.
Phones in SeroPOS
A real phone layout
Home, Categories and Cart tabs with a cart badge, designed for a phone screen rather than a shrunken tablet view.
Quick-action dial
A draggable dial opens the drawer, records a pay-out, resumes held sales, shows tables or clears the order.
Camera barcode scanning
Tap Scan Barcode on the Categories or Products screen to scan with the phone camera.
Bluetooth printing
Print receipts on a portable Bluetooth printer, or on a network printer over Wi-Fi.
Hold, bill and pay
HOLD sends the kitchen ticket, BILL prints the bill, and PAY takes the payment on the phone.
Same account everywhere
Products, customers, printers and sales sync with your other tills and the back office.
How the phone layout works
When the screen is narrower than 650dp, SeroPOS switches to its phone screens. Three icon tabs sit at the bottom: Home, Categories and Cart, with a red badge counting items in the cart. Home has the customer search, a Start an order section with a button for each service type, or a single New sale button in Retail Mode, and tiles for held sales, tables, the drawer, pay-outs and clearing the screen.
A draggable speed dial floats over the Home, Category, Product, Cart and Payment screens, so the drawer, pay-out and held sales are one tap away wherever you are. On small phones SeroPOS uses an even more compact layout with a slimmer toolbar and bottom bar and compact cart, payment and modifier sheets.
Taking an order on a phone
Open Categories, pick a category and tap products to add them. Items with sizes open Select Variation, open-price items ask you to set the price, and items with modifiers open the modifier sheet; cancel it and the line is removed. Search by name or SKU, or tap Scan Barcode to use the camera. Turn off Show Product Images in Settings if you prefer plain name and price cards.
Tap a cart line to edit it: change the unit price, mark it as a return, apply a percentage or fixed discount, or add a cooking note. In the cart, HOLD saves the order and prints the kitchen ticket, KOT reprints it, and PAY takes payment. Staff without pay permission see BILL instead, which prints the bill for the table.

Payments and printing from the phone
The payment screen shows the amount due, payment method chips, amount received and tip, with an Adjust option for discount, reward points, shipping or splitting the bill, then Pay & Print. Split bills work evenly, by percentage, by item or by custom amounts. Card payments can run on a cloud-connected terminal, and on a Global Payments T650P SeroPOS runs on the terminal itself.
For receipts, pair a portable Bluetooth printer or print to a network printer on the same Wi-Fi. A phone can also be a client till in Server/Client Mode on the Pro plan, sharing tables and held orders with a Windows server till, so servers on the floor and the counter till see the same orders.
What stays on the bigger screens
Some features need room. Quick Service Mode, Kiosk Mode, KDS Mode and Multi Monitor for customer displays run on tablet and desktop screens only. Most businesses that sell from phones pair them with a tablet or PC at the counter, which runs those modes while the phones handle the floor, the patio or the market table.
A few screens need internet on any device, including the Daily Sales Report, Recent Transactions and barcode lookups. Selling itself keeps working offline: sales are saved on the phone and sent to the server when it reconnects. Get SeroPOS for iPhone from the App Store, or for Android phones from Google Play.
Frequently asked questions
Can I run SeroPOS on my phone?
Yes. SeroPOS runs on iPhone, from the App Store, and Android phones, from Google Play, with a layout made for phone screens. You can take orders, hold them, print kitchen tickets, take payment and print receipts. The 14-day free trial needs no card, and the same account works on tablets and PCs.
Can I scan barcodes with my phone camera?
Yes. Tap Scan Barcode on the Categories or Products screen and point the camera at the barcode. The SKU is looked up through the server, so camera scanning needs an internet connection. You can also search products by name or SKU from the same screens.
Which printer can I use with a phone POS?
A portable Bluetooth receipt printer is the usual choice, since it pairs straight to the phone and needs no network. Network printers on the same Wi-Fi work too. Add the printer in Add/Edit Printer, set the paper width, usually 58 mm for portable printers, and send a test page.
Can I take card payments on a phone?
Yes, with an integrated terminal. Cloud-connected terminals such as Global Pay Cloud need no cable to the phone, and each till can have its own terminal. On the Global Payments T650P handheld, SeroPOS runs on the terminal itself through Terminal Plus.
Can servers use phones to take table orders?
Yes. A server picks the table, adds items and taps HOLD to send the kitchen ticket. To share tables and held orders across devices, use Server/Client Mode on the Pro plan, where phones connect as client tills to a Windows PC running as the server.
