What you get

Inputly AI in SeroPOS

Answers the phone

SeroBot takes calls for your restaurant, so phone orders are not lost when staff are busy at the counter or in the kitchen.

Orders from your live menu

Menu sync sends your SeroPOS menu to Inputly.AI, so the assistant offers the items you actually sell today.

Staff accept every order

Phone orders land in the till's order queue and wait for a person to accept them before they go any further.

Per-location setup

The integration screen lists a Location ID for each location, so every store's calls feed its own till.

Admin-controlled API key

An admin generates the key that links Inputly.AI to SeroPOS, and can regenerate or revoke it at any time.

Built by Sero

Inputly.AI is an in-house Sero product, so the phone assistant and the POS are supported by the same team.

What SeroBot does

SeroBot is a voice AI phone assistant for restaurants. It answers incoming calls, talks the caller through what they want, and builds the order from the menu you keep in SeroPOS. The integration with Inputly.AI is what connects the assistant to your POS: the menu goes out to it, and finished orders come back.

The point is to stop missing calls at the busiest times of day, without asking a cook or cashier to step away from a line of customers. Every call becomes a written order on the till, with the items spelled out, instead of a note scribbled next to the phone.

How a phone order reaches the till

When SeroBot finishes taking an order, it sends it to SeroPOS for the right location. The order lands in the till's order queue, alongside web and QR orders, and shows up for staff to review. Nothing goes to the kitchen until someone accepts it, so a human still checks every phone order before it is made.

From the list, staff open the order, which moves it into the cart. From there it behaves like any order taken at the counter: it can print a kitchen ticket, be paid at pickup with the payment method the customer uses, and appear in your daily sales report. It also counts toward the order and payment totals in your reports.

  • Caller places the order with SeroBot
  • The order arrives in the till's order list
  • Staff review and accept it
  • The order moves to the cart, kitchen and payment as usual

Keeping the menu current

SeroBot can only offer what it knows about, so the integration includes menu sync. When you add a dish, change a price or retire an item in SeroPOS, sync the menu and the assistant's version of your menu is updated to match. There is no second menu to maintain for the phone line.

Because the menu comes from SeroPOS, the same products and categories you sell at the counter are the ones offered on the phone. Keep your product names clear and your categories tidy, and the phone orders will read cleanly on the till and on kitchen tickets. One menu, kept in one place, serves the counter and the phone line alike.

Setting it up

In the back office, an admin opens Inputly Integration under Settings and generates an API key. The screen also shows your SeroPOS URL and a Location ID for each location. Those three pieces of information are pasted into Inputly.AI, which is how it knows where to send orders for each store.

If a key is ever shared by mistake, or a staff member who set it up leaves, regenerate or revoke the key from the same screen and the old one stops working at once. Only admins can see this screen. That keeps control of the link in the hands of the owner or manager. Once the key is in place, run menu sync and place a test call before you rely on it during service.

  • Open Inputly Integration in the back office
  • Generate an API key
  • Copy the SeroPOS URL and Location IDs into Inputly.AI
  • Run menu sync
  • Place a test call and accept the order on the till

Who it suits

Phone ordering matters most to pizzerias, takeout counters, wing and burger shops, and family restaurants where a large share of orders still come by phone. It also helps a small team that cannot spare a person to stand by the phone during the dinner rush. For these businesses, every missed call during a rush can be a missed sale.

If most of your orders come from people who are happy to order on their phone screen instead, the SeroPOS QR menu and online ordering add-on is the other route. Both kinds of order land in the same list on the till. Many restaurants offer both: SeroBot for callers, and a QR code on the tables and takeout bags for everyone else. Staff then handle every kind of order from one place.

Frequently asked questions

What is SeroBot?

SeroBot is our voice AI phone assistant for restaurants, integrated with Inputly.AI, an in-house Sero product. It answers your restaurant's calls, takes orders from the menu you keep in SeroPOS, and sends each order to the till. Your staff then review and accept the order before it goes to the kitchen.

Do AI phone orders go straight to the kitchen?

No. Each phone order waits in the till's order list until a member of staff accepts it. That gives you a chance to check the items, confirm timing or call the customer back before anything is cooked. Once accepted, it moves into the cart and prints like any other order.

How does SeroBot know my menu?

Through menu sync. The Inputly Integration screen in the SeroPOS back office sends your menu to Inputly.AI, so the assistant offers the same items and categories you sell at the counter. Run the sync again after menu changes, so new items appear and removed items stop being offered.

Can I use it for more than one location?

Yes. The integration screen lists a separate Location ID for each of your business locations. Each location is set up in Inputly.AI with its own ID, so calls to one store create orders on that store's till and not on another's. One API key covers the business.

Is my POS data safe with the API key?

The key is generated by an admin on the Inputly Integration screen, which other users cannot open. It lets Inputly.AI sync your menu and send orders to your till. If you think the key has been exposed, regenerate or revoke it on the same screen and the old key stops working immediately.
