New orders you cannot miss

When a customer orders from your online ordering page or QR menu, SeroPOS checks for it from the till and rings a bell. A cloud icon in the app bar carries a red count badge, so even if the bell is drowned out, the number of waiting orders is on screen. The till checks for new orders about every half minute while it is online.

The Web Order Received popup shows what was ordered, any note from the customer, the type of service, and whether it has already been paid online. Staff can read the whole order before deciding to accept it, which gives them a chance to spot an unusual request or a note that needs a reply before the kitchen starts work.

The Bot / Web Orders list

Tapping the cloud icon opens the Bot / Web Orders list. Each row shows where the order came from, its SeroPOS order ID, the time, the total and its shipping status. View Order moves the order into the cart with the message Order is moved to cart, and Print Invoice prints it. The same list holds phone orders from SeroBot, our voice AI integrated with Inputly.AI, so all off-premise orders are handled in one place.

Moving the order into the cart lets staff treat it like any other sale: send the kitchen ticket, take payment if it is due, and print the receipt. Nothing has to be retyped, so the items, modifiers and notes the customer chose reach the kitchen exactly as they were ordered, even when the counter is busy.

Keeping customers in the loop

Each order carries a status that staff move forward as they work on it, from received through preparation to handed over. Updating the status as you go keeps the order list accurate for everyone on shift, so the next person on the counter can see at a glance what is still waiting. If you cannot fill an order, Cancel Order from the popup turns it down.

For orders paid online, the payment status on the order tells staff not to charge again at pickup. Orders marked for payment on collection are paid at the till when the customer arrives. That avoids charging a customer twice and makes the handover quick at the counter. Staff never need to guess.

Which tills receive orders

Order checks run on tills set to Standalone or Server that have an internet connection. In a Server / Client setup, the server till receives the orders, so the counter does not hear a bell from every tablet on the floor. The bell is loud enough for the counter, and everyone else keeps working.

The queue needs the Online ordering and QR add-on module, which provides the ordering page and the QR menu. Uber Eats orders, from the direct integration rolling out in Canada, use a separate bell icon and their own list. Keeping the two apart lets staff treat delivery and pickup orders in the way each one needs.

Frequently asked questions

How will I know an online order has arrived?

The till rings a bell and the cloud icon in the app bar shows a count badge. A Web Order Received popup shows the order details, so staff can review it straight away. The badge stays until the order is dealt with.

How do I send a web order to the kitchen?

Open the order from the popup or the Bot / Web Orders list and press View Order. The order moves into the cart, where you hold or pay it as usual, which sends the kitchen ticket through your normal printers or kitchen display.

Can I print online orders?

Yes. Each row in the Bot / Web Orders list has a Print Invoice button. Once the order is in the cart, it also prints a kitchen ticket and receipt like any other sale. Reprint from the list if the first copy goes missing.

Why does only one till ring for online orders?

Order checks run on tills set to Standalone or Server that have an internet connection. In Server / Client mode the server till receives the web orders, which stops every client tablet on the floor ringing at once. Put the server till where the person handling online orders works, usually the front counter.

Are delivery app orders in the same queue?

No. Web, QR and SeroBot phone orders share the Bot / Web Orders list behind the cloud icon. Uber Eats orders, from the direct integration rolling out in Canada, arrive behind the bell icon with their own list and actions. Staff can tell the two kinds of order apart at a glance.
