POS for ghost kitchens
A ghost kitchen has no dining room and often several brands cooking from one line, with every order arriving from a screen rather than a person. SeroPOS keeps each brand's menu separate, brings online and delivery-platform orders into one queue, and puts them all on a kitchen display.
Ghost kitchens in SeroPOS
A menu per brand
Multiple POS menus keep each virtual brand's categories separate on the same till and kitchen.
One kitchen display
Orders from every brand and channel land on a KDS screen with timers and an All Day count.
Your own online ordering
The Online ordering and QR add-on gives each location a branded mobile menu that orders into the till.
Uber Eats, rolling out
A direct Uber Eats integration is rolling out in Canada, with orders arriving on the till.
Mark items out of stock
From a delivery-platform order, mark items out of stock or cancel with a reason.
Packaging on every order
Service types add a fixed or percentage packing charge to cover containers and bags.
Several brands, one line
Set up each virtual brand's dishes in its own categories, then create a POS menu per brand from those categories in the back office. When two or more menus exist, pills at the top of the till switch between them, so staff entering a phone or walk-up order see only the brand they are working on. Dishes shared across brands can sit in more than one menu.
KOT Mapping and KDS station filters work on categories and products, so the fryer, grill and cold station each see their items regardless of brand. The Product Sell Report and Trending Products report filter by category, which gives you a sales picture per brand. Receipts carry one business header per location, so check how that suits your brands during the trial.
Orders from screens, not people
With the Online ordering and QR add-on, each location gets a mobile menu with your banners, product photos, variations and modifiers. Customers order for pickup with a guest checkout or an account and pay by card online, or choose another payment method you allow. Orders arrive on the till behind the cloud icon with a badge and a bell, and staff move each one into the cart to send it to the kitchen.
A direct Uber Eats integration is rolling out in Canada as part of the food delivery platforms add-on. It is built to push your menu and opening hours, bring orders onto the till under the bell icon with a ring, and let staff view the order, mark items out of stock or cancel it with a reason such as store busy. Other platforms are not integrated.
A kitchen display for a kitchen with no counter
Switch a tablet or PC on the line to KDS Mode. Every ticket shows its age, counters across the top show how many are on time, need attention after eight minutes or are late after fifteen, and staff tick items before tapping SERVE to bump. New tickets chime twice and stay highlighted for ten seconds, which matters when nobody is standing at a till to call orders out.
The All Day panel totals what is still to cook across every brand's open tickets, so the grill sees the full count of patties rather than five separate brands' worth. Recall keeps anything bumped in the last two hours, which helps when a courier arrives asking about an order that already left the pass.
Margins on delivery food
Delivery margins are thin, so costing matters. On the Pro plan, write a recipe for each dish with its ingredients, packaging and waste percentage, and SeroPOS calculates the cost per portion from your purchase prices. Each type of service can carry a selling price group per location, which is how some kitchens price delivery-channel items differently from pickup.
Packing charges for containers can be added automatically per service type. The Profit and Loss report shows sales, cost of goods and expenses by category, location or date, and expenses such as commissary rent and platform fees can be recorded by category with a receipt attached so the month's numbers are complete.
Frequently asked questions
Can I run several virtual brands from one SeroPOS account?
Yes. Put each brand's dishes in its own categories and create a POS menu per brand. The till switches between menus with a tap, and kitchen tickets and the kitchen display route by category and product. Receipts share one business header per location.
Does SeroPOS integrate with Uber Eats?
A direct Uber Eats integration is rolling out in Canada as part of the food delivery platforms add-on. It is designed to push your menu, bring orders onto the till with an alert, and let staff mark items out of stock or cancel an order with a reason.
Can I take my own online orders without a delivery app?
Yes, with the Online ordering and QR add-on. Each location gets a mobile menu and QR code. Customers order with a guest checkout or an account and pay by card online, and orders arrive on your till for staff to accept and send to the kitchen.
Does a ghost kitchen need a kitchen display?
It helps, because there is no counter staff calling orders. KDS Mode turns any tablet or PC running SeroPOS into a kitchen display with timers, station filters, an All Day count and Recall. It works alongside kitchen printers if you want paper too.
Does SeroPOS manage delivery drivers or couriers?
No. Couriers are handled by the delivery platform, and SeroPOS has no driver dispatch screen. For orders you deliver yourself, the till records the customer's address, a delivery charge and a tip, and prints them on the ticket and receipt.
