Self-order kiosk inside the SeroPOS app
Kiosk Mode lets guests order and pay on their own, on a tablet or touchscreen that runs the same SeroPOS app as your counter, with the same menu, prices and kitchen tickets.
Landscape or portrait, same kiosk

Self order kiosk in SeroPOS
Attract screen
An idle kiosk shows a welcome screen inviting guests to touch anywhere and start their order.
Menu with categories
Guests browse a category rail, tap items and watch their order build in the My Order panel with a running subtotal.
Landscape or portrait
Mount the screen either way. In landscape My Order sits beside the menu; in portrait it waits in a bar until the guest is ready.
Variations and modifiers
Each item opens a sheet to choose a variation and modifiers, with required and free groups marked clearly.
Card payment only
Guests pay by debit or credit on the connected terminal. The kiosk takes no cash, so nobody needs to watch it.
Idle check
If a guest walks away, the kiosk asks whether they are still there and resets for the next person.
Manager-locked exit
Leaving Kiosk Mode needs an Admin or Manager login, so guests cannot reach the till or settings.
A kiosk without a second system
Many kiosks are a separate product with their own menu to maintain. SeroPOS Kiosk Mode is built into the app you already use at the counter. Turn it on in Settings on a tablet or desktop and that screen becomes a full-screen self-order station. It reads the same products, variations, modifiers and prices as your till, so a menu change in the back office shows up on the kiosk after the next sync.
Kiosk Mode is included on both paid plans. Switching it on asks for an Admin or Manager login ID and password, and on Windows and Mac the kiosk opens borderless and full-screen. It is not available on phones, in Retail Mode, or on a till that is already running KDS Mode.
What the guest sees
An idle kiosk shows an attract screen: a welcome, 'Order & pay right here' and an invitation to touch anywhere to start. The menu has a category rail and an Order Here area. As guests add items, the My Order panel shows the subtotal with a note that taxes are calculated at checkout, plus Review & Pay and Start over buttons.
Tapping an item opens a sheet headed SELECT YOUR VARIATION, with modifier groups marked Required or Free, and an Add to My Order button. On the order summary, guests can edit or remove each line before paying. Cancel Order and the Menu button are always visible, and an 'Are you still there?' prompt clears an abandoned order.
Paying at the kiosk
The summary screen asks how the guest would like to pay and offers Debit or Credit only. Pay Now sends the amount to the connected card terminal and prompts the guest to tap or insert their card. When the payment is approved, the kiosk shows Payment Approved and asks them to take their receipt.
Because the kiosk takes card only, there is no cash to count and no drawer to guard. The order is saved as a normal SeroPOS sale, so it appears in Recent Transactions and in the daily sales report alongside counter sales. The card payment safety net applies too, so an approved charge is never lost if the sale has trouble saving.
Getting orders to the kitchen
Kiosk orders follow your kitchen setup. If you route tickets by category or product with KOT Mapping, kiosk items print on the right kitchen printer, and if another till runs KDS Mode, the order appears on the kitchen display. Modifiers chosen at the kiosk print on the ticket like any counter order.
Staff take the kiosk out of service by double-tapping the logo on the menu screen or the lock icon in the cart, then choosing Exit Kiosk Mode and entering Admin or Manager credentials. That keeps curious guests out of the drawer menu, settings and reports while letting a supervisor switch the screen back to a till in seconds.
Frequently asked questions
What hardware do I need for a SeroPOS self-order kiosk?
You need a tablet, Windows PC or Mac with a screen at least 650dp wide, running the SeroPOS app, plus a supported card terminal for payment. Phones cannot run Kiosk Mode. Adding a receipt printer lets the kiosk print a receipt after each order.
Can customers pay cash at the kiosk?
No. Kiosk Mode accepts debit and credit cards only, through the connected card terminal. Guests who want to pay cash can order at the counter instead. Card-only payment means the kiosk can run without a staff member standing beside it.
Is the kiosk included in the Standard plan?
Yes. Kiosk mode is part of the Standard plan at $30 a month and the Pro plan at $50 a month, so you do not need to upgrade to add one. The 14-day free trial includes Kiosk Mode, so you can test it with your own menu first.
How do staff exit Kiosk Mode?
Double-tap the business logo on the menu screen, or the lock icon in the cart, then choose Exit Kiosk Mode. The app asks for an Admin or Manager login ID and password before it returns to the normal till, so guests cannot leave the kiosk.
Do kiosk orders show modifiers on the kitchen ticket?
Yes. Guests pick variations and modifiers on the item sheet, and those choices travel with the order. They print on the kitchen ticket through your KOT Mapping and appear on the kitchen display if you use KDS Mode on another screen.
