See every table's status at a glance

The Table Selection screen shows which tables are free, which have guests and which are waiting on the bill. One tap on a table starts a new order or opens the one already running.

Read the whole floor in one look

Table Selection opens when a server taps Dine-in on the home screen, View Tables in Quick Actions, or Tables on the phone's speed dial. The legend is simple: green for Available, red for Occupied and amber for Processing, which means the bill has been printed and the table is waiting to pay. Each table also shows its number of seats and the server who owns it.

Hosts can see where to seat the next party, and managers can spot a table that has been sitting on a printed bill for too long. Refresh Status pulls the latest state from the server when several tills are working the same room. It is the same picture on the host stand, the bar and every server's tablet.

Start, add to and close a table

Tapping a free table starts a new order assigned to it. Items go into the cart as usual, and pressing HOLD saves the order against the table and sends a kitchen ticket. Later, tapping the red table loads its order back into the cart so the server can add a round of drinks or dessert. The next ticket carries only the new or increased items.

When guests ask for the bill, BILL prints it and turns the table amber. After payment the table frees up. If a table ever shows the wrong state, long-press it and use Change Table Status to set it to Available. That fixes the rare case where a sale was finished on another till before the screen refreshed.

  • Green: Available, ready for a new party
  • Red: Occupied, an order is open
  • Amber: Processing, the bill has been printed

Set up tables per location

Tables are created in the web back office under Tables, per business location. Each one has a name, a description, a number of seats and a booking duration in minutes, which the Bookings screen uses. The Tables module is on by default for new businesses, and a role needs the access tables permission to use them.

In the app, tables appear on the floor plan drawn in the Floor Plan Designer, a Pro feature. Without a plan, Table Selection shows the same tables as a grid, so a Standard plan restaurant still has full table service. You can add the floor plan later, without changing how staff take orders.

Tables in reports and multi-till setups

Every sale keeps its table, so the All Sales list in the back office can show the table column, and the Table Report totals sales per table over a date range. That helps you see which sections earn the most and where to put your strongest servers. Busy tables and quiet corners both show up clearly in the numbers.

In Server / Client mode, holds and table status are shared between tills on the same network. A server can open an order on a tablet and the bartender sees the table turn red on the bar terminal. Table features are hidden when a till runs in Retail Mode. Keep it off on any till that serves the dining room.

Frequently asked questions

What do the table colours mean?

Green means the table is available. Red means it is occupied and an order is open. Amber means processing: the bill has been printed with the BILL button and the table is waiting to pay. Once the sale is paid, the table goes back to available.

Can I see which server has a table?

Yes. Each table on Table Selection shows the server's name alongside its seat count. With Multiple User turned on, staff choose who they are before starting an order, so the right name appears on the table and on the order.

How do I free a table that is stuck as occupied?

Long-press the table on the Table Selection screen and choose Change Table Status, then Available. Deleting a held order from the Held Sales list also frees its table. Refresh Status reloads the latest state from the server. If several tills share the room, refresh on each one after the change.

Do I need the Floor Plan Designer to use tables?

No. Without a floor plan, Table Selection shows your tables in a grid view, and everything else works the same. The Floor Plan Designer is a Pro feature that adds a visual map of the room. You can draw the plan whenever you are ready.

Can I track sales by table?

Yes. The Table Report in the back office shows total sales per table, filtered by location and date range. The All Sales list can also show which table each sale belonged to. Use it to compare sections, servers and busy nights over time.
