Card terminals that talk to the till

With an integrated terminal, the cashier never types the amount twice. SeroPOS sends the total to the card terminal, the customer taps or inserts their card, and the result comes straight back to the till.

Integrated card terminals in SeroPOS

Global Pay Cloud

Connects through the cloud with no terminal cable or IP address to manage.

Terminal Plus

SeroPOS runs on the Global Payments terminal itself, so the handheld is the till.

Moneris Go Cloud

Send sales, refunds and receipts to a Moneris Go terminal through the cloud.

Gravity Payments

Connect a Gravity Payments terminal with its OID, token and device name.

A terminal per till

Each till can name and use its own terminal, so every lane charges on the right device.

Terminal menu on the till

Card history, last receipt, batch summary and batch close from an icon on the app bar.

Why integrated payments

With a standalone terminal, the cashier reads the total off the till and types it into the card machine. Every so often the numbers do not match: a $45.00 sale rung up as $54.00, or a card sale recorded as cash. Integrated terminals remove that step. SeroPOS sends the exact amount to the terminal and records the result, approved or declined, against the sale.

SeroPOS works with four integrated terminal options: Global Pay Cloud, Global Payments Terminal Plus, Moneris Go Cloud and Gravity Payments. Each one is switched on in Settings, and each enabled processor adds a card icon to the app bar that opens that terminal's menu. From there staff can see card history, print the last card receipt and run the batch without leaving the till.

Global Payments: Cloud and Terminal Plus

Global Pay Cloud is described in the app as cloud integration with no terminal cable or IP address. Business credentials are entered once and stored encrypted on the server. Each till then binds its own terminal by entering the Terminal Device Reference from the terminal and choosing Verify and bind terminal. Test terminal and a list of terminals in the business help with setup.

Terminal Plus goes further: SeroPOS runs on the Global Payments terminal itself, an Android handheld such as the T650P, with the terminal set to Semi-Integrated Internal mode. The whole sale, from the product grid to the card tap, happens on one device. It suits tableside ordering, line-busting, patios and food trucks.

Moneris and Gravity Payments

Moneris Go Cloud connects with your Merchant ID, Store ID, API token and Terminal ID, with a TEST and Production switch; TEST turns the screen red so nobody takes real payments by mistake. Terminal Behaviour, synced from Moneris, shows the tip prompt and presets, receipt prompt, void and refund rules and accepted cards. The menu can print the last card receipt, sync the terminal and reboot it.

Gravity Payments terminals connect with the OID, token and device name from Gravity Pay Settings. The till sends the sale to the terminal and watches for the result, handling approvals, partial approvals and card returns. Whichever processor you use, card sales in QSR Mode go straight to the terminal with no separate pay screen.

  • Global Pay Cloud: App ID, App Key, Merchant ID, then a Terminal Device Reference per till
  • Terminal Plus: SeroPOS on the Global Payments terminal
  • Moneris Go Cloud: Merchant ID, Store ID, API token, Terminal ID
  • Gravity Payments: OID, Token, Device Name

Several tills, several terminals

Busy sites run more than one lane. In the Admin hub under Card Terminal for This Till, give each device a name such as Front Till, Bar or Drive-Thru and enter the terminal it should use. The setting is stored on that device, so each till charges on its own terminal while sharing the same business credentials. Use shared returns a till to the business default.

Integrated terminals also handle refunds and voids. When you refund or void a card sale from Recent Transactions, the reversal runs on the terminal. Batch close and the day-end report are on the terminal menu. If you want to compare your processing costs, send us a recent statement and we will quote a rate.

Frequently asked questions

Which card terminals work with SeroPOS?

SeroPOS integrates with Global Pay Cloud, Global Payments Terminal Plus, Moneris Go Cloud and Gravity Payments. The till sends the amount to the terminal and records the result. Stripe Terminal, Square, Clover and PAX terminals are not integrated, so check your terminal against this list first.

Does SeroPOS work with Moneris?

Yes. Turn on Moneris Payments in Settings and enter your Merchant ID, Store ID, API token and Terminal ID in Moneris Pay Settings. Sales, refunds and receipts then run through your Moneris Go terminal, and terminal settings such as the tip prompt sync from Moneris.

Can I run SeroPOS on the card terminal itself?

Yes, with Global Payments Terminal Plus. SeroPOS installs on the Android-based Global Payments terminal, such as the T650P, and talks to the payments app on the same device. Set the terminal to Semi-Integrated Internal mode to use it, and the handheld becomes a complete till.

Can each till use its own card terminal?

Yes. In the Admin hub, open Card Terminal for This Till, name the till and enter the terminal details for that device. Each till then charges on its own terminal, while the business credentials stay shared. Use shared switches a till back to the default.

What rate will I pay for card processing?

Rates depend on your business, card mix and processor. Send us a recent processing statement and we will quote a rate for an integrated terminal. SeroPOS works with Global Payments, Moneris and Gravity Payments, so you can compare options before you choose a terminal.
