Steps
- Set the terminal mode. Ask Global Payments to set the T650P to Semi-Integrated Internal mode, which lets an app on the terminal hand payments to its Payments app.
- Install and sign in. Install SeroPOS on the T650P and sign in with your usual login. The app opens in its compact layout.
- Open Global Pay Settings. Open the drawer, tap Settings, switch on Global Payments and tap its gear.
- Turn on Terminal Plus. Tap Terminal Plus and confirm Use Terminal Plus on this device?. SeroPOS registers itself with the Payments app, and the address is filled in for you.
- Check the status. The screen should read Terminal Plus is on. SeroPOS is registered with the Payments app. If it says Payments app not found, SeroPOS is not running on a Global Payments terminal.
- Take a sale. Ring up an order and choose Debit or Credit. The Payments app opens on the same device for the customer to tap or insert, then returns to SeroPOS.
When to use Terminal Plus
Terminal Plus is for when SeroPOS itself is installed on the Global Payments terminal, so one handheld takes the order and the payment. It suits tableside ordering, patios, markets and line-busting. If SeroPOS runs on a separate tablet or computer, keep Terminal Plus off and connect the terminal by IP address or through Global Pay Cloud.
On the T650P, SeroPOS uses a compact layout with a smaller toolbar, bottom navigation and a compact cart and payment sheet built for the 360 by 640 screen.
Frequently asked questions
What does Payments app not found mean?
SeroPOS could not find the Global Payments Payments app on this device, which happens when it is installed on an ordinary tablet or phone. Turn Terminal Plus off and enter the terminal's IP address instead, or install SeroPOS on the terminal.
Can I print receipts from the T650P?
The terminal's own printer handles card receipts. For order receipts and kitchen tickets, add a network or Bluetooth printer in Add/Edit Printer as you would on any other till.
Do I need a separate tablet with the T650P?
No. With Terminal Plus the T650P runs SeroPOS and takes the card on the same device, so one handheld can take the order and the payment. You can still add other tills, each with its own terminal, if the store needs more than one.
