Steps
- Open the menu. Tap the card icon in the app bar. If you use more than one processor, each has its own icon.
- Check card history. Card Transaction History lists every card tap on this POS, approved and declined, so you can confirm whether a customer paid.
- Reprint a card receipt. Print Last Card Receipt sends the last card transaction receipt to the default printer.
- Check the batch. Print Batch Summary (no close) prints the current batch totals by card type without settling it.
- Close the day. Close Batch & Print Day-End Report settles every card transaction in the current batch and prints the day-end report on your default printer. Compare it with the Daily Sales Report.
- Unstick the terminal. If sales stop reaching the terminal, use Restart Terminal App (Global Payments) or Reboot Terminal (Moneris), then wait for it to come back.
Menu options by processor
The options differ slightly by processor because each terminal supports different commands.
- Global Payments: Card Transaction History, Print Last Card Receipt, Print Batch Summary (no close), Close Batch & Print Day-End Report, Restart Terminal App
- Global Pay Cloud: Card Transaction History, Test Terminal, Print Batch Summary (no close), Close Batch
- Moneris: Card Transaction History, Print Last Card Receipt, Sync Terminal with Moneris, Reboot Terminal
Reconciling the day
The day-end report includes a Reconcile section that compares the POS with the terminal. If it shows a card charge the POS did not record, check Card Transaction History and the last few orders before closing, so a possible double charge or unsaved sale is caught the same day.
Frequently asked questions
I don't see a card icon in the app bar.
The icon appears only when a processor is switched on in Drawer › Settings. Turn on Global Payments, Global Pay Cloud or Moneris Payments and the matching icon shows.
Should I close the batch every day?
Closing the batch yourself at the end of the day settles the card sales and gives you a printed day-end report that matches the shift. If the batch was already settled on the terminal, SeroPOS tells you there is nothing left to close.
