Steps
- Switch on Global Pay Cloud. Open the drawer, tap Settings and turn on Global Pay Cloud (Cloud integration, no terminal cable or IP address). Tap the gear.
- Enter business credentials. Under Business credentials, enter the App ID, App Key and, if you have one, the Merchant ID from the Global Payments portal. They are stored encrypted on the SeroPOS server, never on the till.
- Read the terminal reference. On the terminal, open the UCI app, tap the menu, then Merchant Settings, and copy Select Lane (Processing TID) exactly. It is also shown at the bottom of the app as UCI Processing ID.
- Bind it to this till. Check This till shows the right till name, enter the value as the Terminal Device Reference (Processing TID), and tap Verify and bind terminal.
- Save and test. Tap Save, then Test terminal. The terminal answered. Card payments are ready. means it is working.
- Repeat on each till. On every other till, open the same screen and bind the terminal that stands next to it. The Terminals in this business list shows which terminal each till uses.
Get the reference exactly right
The value you enter must match the Processing TID on the terminal. If they differ, the terminal is listening on a different lane from the one being charged, and the sale can look sent without the terminal ever asking for a card. Verify and bind terminal checks this for you, and Re-check and re-bind terminal runs the check again later.
Credentials are entered once for the business. Leave the App Key field blank when editing to keep the stored key.
Partial approvals and the menu
If a card approves only part of the total, the payment screen shows the Balance Due and lets you charge the rest on another card or take cash. The card icon in the app bar opens the Global Pay Cloud menu with Card Transaction History, Test Terminal, Print Batch Summary and Close Batch.
Frequently asked questions
Do I still need the terminal on my network?
The terminal needs an internet connection, but it does not need to be on the same local network as the till and you do not enter an IP address. Payments travel through Global Payments' cloud service.
How is Global Pay Cloud different from the network connection?
The network connection needs the terminal's IP address, port and ECR ID, and both devices on the same network. Global Pay Cloud only needs your business credentials and each terminal's Processing TID, so moving a terminal or changing routers does not break it.
Two tills are charging the same terminal.
Each till must be bound to its own terminal. Open Global Pay Cloud settings on the till that charges the wrong terminal, enter the Processing TID of the terminal beside it and tap Verify and bind terminal.
