SeroPOS app help: hardware setup

SeroPOS works with receipt and kitchen printers over the network, Bluetooth, USB or Windows, and can find them for you with Auto-detect. It also reads USB, serial and network weighing scales, takes barcode scanners in keyboard mode, and shows a customer display in a browser, on an HDMI screen or on a second monitor.

Tap Add on the one you want, check the name and paper width, and tap Save Printer.Connect a Bluetooth printerA Bluetooth printer suits phones, tablets and handheld tills where a cable is not practical. On Android and Mac, SeroPOS talks to the printer directly over the cable and lists it under Available Devices. On Windows and iPad, USB printing goes through the system printer, so install the printer there and add it as a Windows printer on a Windows till.Connect a network printerA network printer, connected by Ethernet or Wi-Fi, is the most reliable choice for kitchens and busy counters because every till on the network can reach it. In SeroPOS open Drawer › Add/Edit Printer › Add printer, choose Network Printer, enter the printer's IP Address and Port 9100, run Test Printer and save.Use a Windows printerOn a Windows till you can print through any printer installed in Windows, including USB receipt printers that use a Windows driver. Open Drawer › Add Weighing Scale, plug in and switch on the scale, pick it under Detected scales and tap Connect, then put something on the platter to check the live reading. The drawer row only shows when weighing is turned on for your business.Add a network scaleA scale on your network is usually an RS-232 scale plugged into a serial-to-network adapter. Open Drawer › Add Weighing Scale, go to Add a network scale, enter the adapter's IP address and port (often 4001, 10001 or 8000), tap Test, then Add network scale. A network scale is read by one till at a time, so add it on the till next to the platter.Show a customer display in a browserAny screen with a web browser on your local Wi-Fi can show customers their order, with no internet needed. Open Drawer › Multi Monitor, tap Start under Web Display Server, then open the address it shows in a browser on the second screen, or scan the QR code with a phone or tablet. The order updates as items go into the cart.Connect a customer display over HDMIOn an Android till with an HDMI or USB-C video port, you can show the customer display on a monitor plugged straight into the device. Connect the monitor, open Drawer › Multi Monitor, tap Scan for Displays under HDMI / USB-C Direct Display, then tap Launch. The display uses the same layout, media and theme settings as the browser display.Use a second monitor as a customer displayOn a Windows or Mac till, connect a second monitor and open Drawer › Multi Monitor. Under Second Monitor (Windows / Mac), tap Refresh monitors, pick the monitor, then choose Open Display for a full app window or In Browser for a full-screen browser window. Plug the scanner in, tap the search field on the POS screen and scan: when the barcode exactly matches a product's SKU, the item goes straight into the cart. Phones and tablets can also scan with the camera.
