Print a bill before payment

To hand a table their bill before they pay, hold the order and tap BILL in the cart. SeroPOS prints the bill and marks the table Processing, so others can see it's waiting on payment. Staff without payment permission see BILL in place of PAY. On the payment screen, Print does the same for a held order, and with Enable Cart Print on it prints a provisional bill for an order that isn't held.

How to Print a Provisional Bill with Enable Cart Print in SeroPOS0:42 · narrated, with captions

Steps

  1. Hold the order. Make sure the order is held. BILL works on held orders.
  2. Open the order. Load the table's order from Table Selection or Held Sales.
  3. Tap BILL. Tap BILL in the cart. The bill prints on the default printer.
  4. Table turns amber. The table shows Processing on Table Selection.
  5. Take payment. When the customer is ready, open the order and tap PAY.

Enable Cart Print

By default a bill can only be printed for a held order, and SeroPOS says so if you try otherwise. Turn on Enable Cart Print in Drawer › Settings to print a provisional bill of the current cart from the payment screen without holding it first.

Limits

Printing a hold bill needs internet because it fetches the order from the server. A default printer must be set in Add/Edit Printer.

Frequently asked questions

Why does it say I can print only if the order is on HOLD?

Bills are printed from the saved order, so the order has to be held first. Tap HOLD, then BILL. If you want to print the cart without holding, turn on Enable Cart Print in Drawer › Settings.

How do I reset a table that shows Processing?

Paying the order frees the table. If a table is stuck after the order was moved or deleted, long-press it on Table Selection, choose Change Table Status and set it to Available.
