Which split type to use
The split amounts always add up to the bill, including tax.
- Even: the total divided equally between the number of splits
- Percent: each split pays a percentage of the total
- Item Wise: each person pays for the items they ordered
- Custom: type any amount on each split, for example 40 on cash and the rest on card
Split in QSR Mode
In QSR Mode the Split button opens a numpad showing what's Remaining. Type an amount and tap a tender button to record each part. Clear is blocked until the split is finished, so nothing paid is lost.
Frequently asked questions
Can each person pay a different way?
Yes. Each split has its own payment method and card type, so one guest can pay cash, another debit and a third credit. Custom payment methods you've set up in Admin › Payment Methods can be used on a split too.
What if one guest leaves before paying?
On a tablet, tap Hold after the splits that have been paid. The order stays on the table with those payments recorded, and you can come back to it from Held Sales or Table Selection to collect the rest.
