Take cash and give change

For a cash sale, tap PAY, choose Cash and type the amount the customer handed you in PAYMENT AMOUNT. SeroPOS works out the Change Return in PAYMENT DETAILS so you know what to give back before you finish. Tap Pay & Print; the receipt prints and the cash drawer connected to the receipt printer opens.

Cash in QSR Mode and on a phone

In QSR Mode, the Cash button in the cart takes the exact total in one tap. On a phone, type the cash in Amount received and the Change shows below.

In QSR Mode, custom tenders such as E-Transfer are recorded like cash but don't open the drawer.

Balancing the drawer

Open the register with your float at the start of the shift in Drawer › Open/Close Register, and close it with the counted total at the end. The Daily Sales Report shows cash collected, pay outs and net collection so you can check the count.

Frequently asked questions

The drawer didn't open after a cash sale.

The drawer opens through the receipt printer, so check the drawer cable is plugged into the printer and that printer is set as DEFAULT in Add/Edit Printer. Try Open Drawer in Quick Actions to test it. If the receipt printed but the drawer didn't open, the cable or drawer is the likely cause.

What happens if I type less cash than the total?

SeroPOS warns Payment Amount is Less than Invoice Total. Tap Go Back to correct the amount, or Ok Continue to record it as a partial payment, which leaves the rest due on the sale.
