Steps
- Count the float. Before the first sale, count the cash you are putting in the drawer.
- Open the register. Open the drawer menu, tap Open/Close Register, type the float in Amount and tap OPEN.
- Sell as usual. Cash sales, change and pay outs during the shift are tracked against this session.
- Count the drawer at close. At the end of the shift, count all the cash in the drawer.
- Close the register. Open Open/Close Register again, type the counted total in Amount, add a closing note (for example to explain a difference or a handover) and tap CLOSE.
- Print the day's report. Open Drawer › DSR(Daily Sale Report), choose Today and tap PRINT for your Z report.
Tips
Open the register before the first sale so every cash movement lands in the right session. Count carefully at close, because the counted amount is compared with the cash you should have; the note is where you explain any difference. Record cash taken out for supplies with Cash Pay Out rather than just removing it.
- Staff need Open / Close Register in the Sales & Transactions group of their role.
- Closing doesn't print a report; use the DSR.
- The web back office has a register report for past sessions.
Frequently asked questions
Does closing the register print a Z report?
No. Closing records the counted amount and note. To print the end-of-day totals, open Drawer › DSR(Daily Sale Report), pick Today and tap PRINT.
Where do I see past register sessions?
In the web back office register report, which lists each open and close with its amounts. The app records the sessions; the back office reports on them.
