Steps
- Open the report. In the sidebar, open Reports and click Register Report. You need the register report permission.
- Filter by user. Pick a User, or leave All Users.
- Filter by status. Choose Open to find registers still open, Close for finished sessions, or All.
- Set the dates. Click Date Range and pick a preset (Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, This Month, Last Month, This month last year, This Year, Last Year, Current financial year, Last financial year) or Custom Range.
- Read each session. Open Time, Close Time, Location, the user, Total Card Slips, Total cheques and Total Cash counted at close.
- Open the details. Use Action to view Register Details: cash in hand, cash, cheque, card, bank transfer, advance and other payments, total refund, credit sales, total sales and the closing note. Click Print for a copy.
Checking a till close
Compare Total Cash in the list with the cash payments in Register Details. A gap means the drawer was over or short when it was counted. The closing note entered at close usually explains why.
Registers are opened and closed at the till in the SeroPOS app. A register left open shows Open here until someone closes it.
Export and print
Every table on this report has the same toolbar: CSV, Excel, Print, Columns and, in most back-office languages, PDF. The exports take the columns that are visible, so hide anything you don't need with Columns first. The totals row at the bottom of the table is included in the export.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find a register someone forgot to close?
Set Status to Open and leave the date range wide. Every open session is listed with its user and location. Close it from the till so its totals are counted.
What are card slips on the register report?
Total Card Slips is the number of card slips counted when the register was closed. It is entered at close so you can check it against the card payments recorded for the session.
