Steps
- Tap Cash Pay Out. On Home, tap Cash Pay Out in Quick Actions. On a tablet you can also use Pay Out on the floating dial.
- Enter the amount. In Cash Out, type the Cash Out Amount.
- Add a note. In Note (Optional), say what the cash was for, for example Produce delivery.
- Confirm. Read the warning that a cash out can't be reversed, check the amount and tap Confirm Cash Out.
- Take the slip. A slip prints on the default printer. Keep it with the receipt from the supplier.
- Take the cash. Remove the cash from the drawer.
Why pay outs matter
Without a pay out, the drawer comes up short at close and nobody knows why. Recording it means the Daily Sales Report's Payouts card and Payout section explain the difference, and the closing count in Open/Close Register matches.
A pay out can't be undone in the app, so check the amount before you confirm.
Frequently asked questions
I entered the wrong pay out amount. Can I fix it?
Not in the app: a cash out can't be reversed once completed. Note the mistake in the closing note when you close the register, so the difference is explained, and correct the expense in the back office if you record expenses there.
Do pay outs need a printer?
The slip prints on the default printer. If none is set, SeroPOS warns No Default Printer. Set one in Add/Edit Printer so you have a paper record to keep with the supplier's receipt.
