Sync categories and products to WooCommerce

Send your catalogue to WooCommerce from the WooCommerce dashboard (/woocommerce). Sync Product Categories first, then Sync Products, choosing Sync only new for products created since the last sync or Sync all to send everything. Products go across with variations, images, prices and stock. On the Product Sync Settings tab you choose the tax class, price group, description and which fields update on create and on update.

Steps

  1. Set product sync options. Go to WooCommerce › API Settings › Product Sync Settings. Choose the Default Tax Class, whether to Sync Product Price Including Tax or Excluding Tax, the Default Selling Price Group and Sync product description as short, long or both.
  2. Choose which fields sync. Tick the product fields to sync when creating products and when updating them: name, price, images, description, stock and manage stock. Save.
  3. Open the dashboard. In the back office sidebar, click WooCommerce.
  4. Sync categories. Under Sync Product Categories, click Sync. Last Synced shows when it last ran.
  5. Sync products. Under Sync Products, click Sync only new for new products or Sync all for every product. Don't refresh or leave the page while it runs.
  6. Check the alerts. The dashboard tells you how many categories or products haven't synced or have changed since the last sync. Sync again to send them.
  7. Keep a product off the store. On a product's form in SeroPOS, tick Disable Woocommerce Sync to stop that product being sent.

Sync only new or Sync all

Sync all sends every product and takes longer; use it for the first sync or after changing product sync settings. Sync only new is quicker for day-to-day use. With auto-sync on, products also sync on the schedule.

If the store gets into a mess, Reset synced categories or Reset synced products clears the links so you can sync from scratch.

Good to know

Map tax rates before your first product sync so prices and tax line up. WooCommerce is part of the Pro plan. The WooCommerce item shows in the back office sidebar when your subscription includes it, and each sync action has its own permission.
