Steps
- Prepare WordPress. In WordPress, set Permalinks to Post name, and check that your store and SeroPOS use the same timezone.
- Create REST API keys. In WooCommerce › Settings › Advanced › REST API, add a key with a description, choose the user and give it Read/Write permission. Copy the consumer key and secret.
- Open API Settings in SeroPOS. In the back office sidebar, click WooCommerce, then API Settings, and open the API Settings tab.
- Enter the connection details. Fill in Woocommerce App URL, Woocommerce Consumer Key and Woocommerce Consumer Secret.
- Choose the location. Pick the business location that will be used for WooCommerce. Its stock and prices go to the store, and orders come in against it.
- Turn on auto-sync. Tick Enable Auto Sync to sync on a schedule, then save.
- Set up webhooks. On the Webhook Settings tab, copy the Webhook Delivery URL for Order Created, Order Updated, Order Deleted and Order Restored into matching webhooks in WooCommerce, and set the same Webhook Secret on each.
- Run the first sync. Go to the WooCommerce dashboard and sync categories, then products.
If it won't connect
Unable to connect with WooCommerce, check API settings means SeroPOS couldn't reach the store with those details. Check the URL includes https://, the keys have Read/Write permission and haven't been revoked, and permalinks are set to Post name.
Good to know
Auto-sync runs twice a day. Webhooks bring orders in as soon as they're placed, so set them up even with auto-sync on. WooCommerce is part of the Pro plan. The WooCommerce item shows in the back office sidebar when your subscription includes it, and each sync action has its own permission.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I find my WooCommerce API keys?
In WordPress, go to WooCommerce › Settings › Advanced › REST API and add a key with Read/Write permission. WooCommerce shows the consumer key and secret once, so copy them straight into SeroPOS.
Do I need webhooks if auto-sync is on?
Auto-sync runs twice a day. Webhooks send each order to SeroPOS as it's placed, updated, deleted or restored, so set them up if you want orders in the POS right away.
Can I connect more than one location?
One business location is used for WooCommerce. Its stock and prices are sent to the store and WooCommerce orders come in against it.
