Steps
- Tap the cart line. Tap the item in the cart. Edit Item opens.
- Change the price. On a phone, edit Unit Price. In QSR Mode, enter New Price (ex-tax).
- Add a line discount. Choose Percentage or Fixed and enter the discount amount. The Price Preview shows the new line total.
- Mark as a return. Turn on Return (Is Return on a tablet) if the customer is bringing this item back.
- Add a note. Type cooking instructions or a special request, for example no ice. It prints on the kitchen ticket.
- Save. Tap Save Changes.
When a line is locked
Once an item has been sent to the kitchen and the kitchen has started it, the line can't be edited, and SeroPOS shows Can't change! Item is in Process. Ask the kitchen first, then void or adjust it from the order.
Price changes and discounts are controlled by role permissions. If your role doesn't allow them, a manager can approve the change once with their password.
Quantity
Change quantity with the minus and plus buttons on the line. In QSR Mode, tap the quantity to open the keypad, and swipe a line left to remove it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I discount one item instead of the whole bill?
Yes. Open Edit Item on that line and enter a percentage or fixed discount. For a discount on the whole sale, use the Discount chip on the payment screen, or Adjust in QSR Mode.
Does the note print on the receipt?
The note prints on the kitchen ticket so the cook sees it. Use it for preparation instructions such as well done or sauce on the side.
