Clear the screen in SeroPOS

Clear Screen empties the cart and frees the table so you can start fresh, for example after ringing the wrong items. Tap Clear Screen in Quick Actions on Home, or Clear on the floating dial. If the cart had items, the clear is recorded as a line void so the owner can see what was removed. Clear is blocked while a split payment is in progress.

Home: pick the customer and the service mode, or use Resume Order, View Tables, Open Drawer, Cash Pay Out and Clear Screen.

Steps

  1. Decide whether to hold instead. If the customer is coming back, use HOLD so the order is kept. Clear throws the current cart away.
  2. Tap Clear Screen. On Home, tap Clear Screen in Quick Actions. On a tablet you can also tap Clear on the floating dial.
  3. Confirm if asked. Confirm the clear. The cart empties and the table is freed.
  4. Start the next order. Pick a service or a table to begin again.

Line voids and permissions

Every clear of a cart with items is logged as a line void, so items removed before payment don't go unnoticed. Clearing can also be limited by role: Clear is one of the checkout buttons in each role's POS Access, and a manager can approve it once with their password.

In QSR Mode the Clear button sits in the top action row of the cart and can be hidden in QSR Settings.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I clear during a split payment?

Some of the bill has already been paid, so clearing would lose track of that money. SeroPOS shows Complete remaining split payments first. Finish the remaining splits, then the cart clears on its own.

Does Clear Screen delete a held order?

No. Clear only empties what's on screen. A held order stays in Held Sales. To remove a held order, open Held Sales and use Delete on its card.
