Steps
- Show the Delivery button. In QSR Settings, turn on Show Delivery Button and save. It's off by default.
- Set the delivery charge. In Admin › Types of Service, give your Delivery service a fixed packing charge, for example 5.00.
- Tap Delivery. Ring the order and tap Delivery in the cart's bottom row.
- Check the charge. The Delivery field shows the charge from Types of Service and the Total includes it. Type over it to change it for this order.
- Add a tip. Type the driver's tip in the Tip field. In Quantity First, the keypad opens for the tip; tap the down arrow to apply it.
- Take payment. Tap Cash, Debit or Credit as usual. The sale is recorded as a delivery.
How the charge works
Only a fixed delivery charge is filled in automatically. A percentage charge on the Delivery service isn't applied by the toggle, so set a fixed amount if you want it added for you. The charge is taxed at your business's default rate and counted in Delivery Charges in the Daily Sales Report.
The toggle needs services named Delivery and Take Away in Types of Service. Using Delivery can also be limited by role in POS Access.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need the customer's address for a QSR delivery?
No. The toggle switches the service and adds the charge without checking for an address. For phone-in orders where you need the address on the ticket, attach the customer before you ring the order, or start the order from the Delivery button on Home.
Why is the delivery charge blank?
Your Delivery type of service has no charge, or its charge is a percentage, which the toggle doesn't apply. Set a fixed packing charge on Delivery in Admin › Types of Service and sync, or type the charge in the Delivery field.
