Start a delivery order in SeroPOS

For a phone-in delivery, search for the customer on the Home screen first, then tap Delivery. Delivery needs a customer with an address on file; if the address is missing, SeroPOS shows Please add customer address first. and opens Edit Customer so you can add it. The POS then opens for that customer and you ring the items as usual.

Steps

  1. Find the customer. In Search or Add Customer, type the caller's name or phone number and pick them. For a new caller, add them with their address.
  2. Tap Delivery. Tap the Delivery button under Service Mode.
  3. Add the address if asked. If you see Please add customer address first., fill in the address on Edit Customer and save.
  4. Ring the items. The POS opens for the customer. Add products and any modifiers.
  5. Hold or take payment. Tap HOLD to send the order to the kitchen and take payment on delivery, or PAY if they pay now.
  6. Print for the driver. Print the receipt or bill so the driver has the address and total.

Delivery charges and tips

A delivery charge set on the Delivery type of service is added automatically. At payment you can also add a tip or a shipping charge. In QSR Mode, the Delivery toggle in the cart adds a tip field and the delivery charge without leaving the counter screen.

What SeroPOS doesn't do here

There's no driver dispatch or tracking screen in the app. Orders from the Uber Eats integration, which is rolling out in Canada, arrive separately through the order bell in the app bar.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Delivery ask me to add an address?

A delivery order has to go somewhere, so SeroPOS checks the selected customer has an address. If not, it shows Please add customer address first. and opens Edit Customer. Add the street address and save, then tap Delivery again.

Can I take a delivery order without a customer?

Not from the Delivery button; it needs a customer with an address. For a quick counter sale that's going out the door, QSR Mode's Delivery toggle switches the service to delivery and adds the charge without needing a saved address.
