Steps
- Add your Stripe keys. For online card payments, go to Settings › Business Settings, open the Stripe tab and enter your Stripe keys. Save.
- Open Business Locations. Go to Settings › Business Locations and click Edit on the location.
- Find the payment methods table. The table lists each payment method with a POS column and a Catalogue column.
- Tick online methods. In the Catalogue column, tick Stripe to take card payments online, and tick methods such as cash for pay on collection.
- Save. Save the location. Checkout on that location's menu now offers those methods.
- Test an order. Place a test order from your own phone and check it arrives in the POS with the right payment status.
How each method works
With Stripe, the customer sees Pay securely by card online and is sent to a secure payment page to finish paying. The money goes to your own Stripe account. Online card payments are charged in Canadian dollars.
With a pay-on-collection method, the order is placed with nothing charged, and staff take payment at the counter or the table as usual.
Good to know
If no method is ticked, checkout tells customers no payment method is set up and to contact you. Card processing fees are between you and Stripe. Online ordering and QR is an add-on module. The Catalogue QR item shows in the back office sidebar when your subscription includes it.
