See how customers order from your QR menu

When a customer scans your QR code, your location's menu opens on their phone with your banner, a search bar and category chips. They tap a product to choose variations, modifiers and quantity, and add it to the cart. At checkout they pick the type of service, such as dine-in or takeaway, and their table if dining in, enter their details or sign in, choose how to pay, and place the order. It lands in your POS for staff to accept.

Steps

  1. Scan the QR code. The customer scans your QR code and the location's menu opens in their phone's browser. No app to install.
  2. Browse the menu. They search or tap the category chips to jump through the menu. Only products sold at that location show, and location discounts show as a percentage badge.
  3. Add items. Tapping a product opens it with its variations, modifiers and quantity. They add it to the cart, which slides out from the side.
  4. Go to checkout. At Checkout they choose the Type of service, such as dine-in or takeaway, and select their table if dining in.
  5. Enter details. They check out as a guest with their name, email and phone, or log in or register for an account. A guest cart moves to the account on login.
  6. Choose how to pay. They pick a payment method: card online through Stripe, or a pay-on-collection method.
  7. Place the order. They add any order notes and tap Place order, then see Order placed.
  8. Staff accept it. The order appears in your POS. In the SeroPOS app it shows in the BOT / WEB ORDERS list; staff open it, accept it and move its status along.

What you set up for this to work

Your products and prices come from the back office, per location. Types of service come from Types of Service, and the table picker uses your restaurant tables; a table picked at checkout is marked occupied. Payment methods for checkout are ticked per location in Business Locations.

Limits

The online menu has no delivery fees or delivery address flow; delivery or pickup can be offered as a type of service, with no fee added. Online ordering and QR is an add-on module. The Catalogue QR item shows in the back office sidebar when your subscription includes it.
