Steps
- Open the follow-up. Go to CRM › Follow ups and open the follow-up you've just done, or go straight to the Follow up log.
- Add a log entry. Click Add Follow Up Log.
- Enter the details. Fill in the Subject and Log Type, and add the start and end time if they differ from the plan.
- Describe the outcome. In the description, note what was discussed, what the contact asked for and the next step.
- Update the follow-up status. Set the follow-up status to Completed, or Cancelled if it didn't happen.
- Review history. Open the lead or customer to see every follow-up and its log in one place.
Writing a useful log
Keep each entry short and specific: who you spoke to, what they want, what you promised and when. If there's a next step, schedule it as a new follow-up straight away so it appears on someone's list.
Good to know
A follow-up with nothing logged shows No Log Found. CRM is part of the Pro plan. The CRM item shows in the back office sidebar when your subscription includes it and your role has the CRM permissions.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I see a customer's full contact history?
Open the lead or customer record. Its follow-ups and their log entries are listed together, so you can read the whole history in date order.
Can I edit a log entry?
Yes. Use Edit Follow Up Log on the entry to correct the subject, type or description.
Does logging a call close the follow-up?
Set the follow-up's status to Completed when it's done. The log records the outcome; the status shows whether the task is finished.
