Steps
- Open the Dashboard. Click Dashboard at the top of the sidebar. The page opens with a welcome line and today's figures.
- Choose a location. Use Select location to look at one store, or leave it on all locations to see the whole business.
- Set the date range. Click Filter by date and choose Today, This Week, This Month, This Financial Year or a custom range. The tiles reload for that period.
- Read the synopsis tiles. Total Sales is closed sale value, Total purchase is purchases booked in the period, Invoice due is what customers still owe and Purchase due is what you still owe suppliers. Total Tax and Expense complete the row.
- Check the trend charts. Business Analysis shows Location Wise Sale, Net Sales over the last 30 days, Average Daily Sales, Average Ticket Value, Best Sales Day, the Daily Sales Trend, Payment Mix, Weekday Pattern and Weekend vs Weekday, then Sales Current Financial Year against the previous year.
- Work the due lists. Sales Payment Due lists invoices to collect in the next 7 days, based on each invoice's pay term. Purchase Payment Due does the same for supplier bills.
- Act on stock alerts. Product Stock Alert lists products at or below their Alert quantity, so you know what to reorder. Stock Expiry Alert lists stock expiring soon, if product expiry is turned on.
Who sees the figures
The numbers need the View Home data permission on the user's role. Without it, a user sees only the welcome message, or is sent to the Download SeroPOS page. Give cashiers a role without it if you'd rather they didn't see sales totals.
Settings that change the dashboard
Alert quantity is set per product on the Add Product form. The expiry window for Stock Expiry Alert is set in Settings › Setting › Dashboard, and expiry tracking itself is on the Product tab. Due dates come from the Pay term on each customer, supplier, invoice or purchase.
- Alert quantity: per product
- Stock expiry alert window: Settings › Setting › Dashboard
- Pay term: per contact, sale or purchase
Frequently asked questions
Why does my dashboard only show a welcome message?
Your role does not have the View Home data permission. An admin can open User Management › Roles, edit your role, tick View Home data under Home and save. The figures appear the next time you open the Dashboard.
Why is a product missing from Product Stock Alert?
The list only includes products that have Manage Stock? ticked and an Alert quantity set. Open the product, enter an Alert quantity, and it will appear once stock at a location reaches or drops below that number.
Do the dashboard totals include sales from the SeroPOS app?
Yes. Sales rung up on the app sync to the back office, so they count in Total Sales and the charts once the till has synced. A till that is offline sends its sales when it reconnects.
