Add modifiers to an item

When a product has modifier groups, SeroPOS opens Choose modifiers after you add it. Each option is listed with its price; tick the ones the customer wants and tap Add Modifiers, or tap Skip to add the item plain. The modifiers show as chips under the item in the cart, and on a tablet you can remove one chip at a time later.

How to Add Modifiers to an Item in SeroPOS QSR Mode0:50 · narrated, with captions

Modifier groups, some required (Choose 1), in the order the kitchen needs them.

Steps

  1. Add the product. Tap the product on the POS screen. Choose a variation first if asked.
  2. Pick the modifiers. In Choose modifiers, tap each add-on the customer wants. Prices are shown beside each option.
  3. Confirm. Tap Add Modifiers. The button shows how many you picked.
  4. Or skip. Tap Skip to add the item without modifiers.
  5. Remove one later. On a tablet, tap the x on a modifier chip under the cart line to remove just that modifier.

How modifiers print and report

Modifiers print under their item on the kitchen ticket and the receipt, and their prices are added to the line. The Daily Sales Report has an Add-ons (Modifiers) section showing how often each one sold.

Set up modifiers in Admin › Modifier Groups, then attach the group to a product in its product form.

Modifiers in QSR Mode

In QSR Mode the modifier sheet only opens if Modifier Popup is on in QSR Settings. With it off, products go straight into the cart for faster counter service.

Frequently asked questions

On a phone, I cancelled the modifier sheet and the item disappeared.

That's expected on the phone layout: cancelling the modifier sheet removes the line you just added, so you don't end up with an item missing its options. Tap the product again and choose the modifiers, or tap Skip to add it plain.

Can a modifier be free?

Yes. Give the option a price of 0 in the modifier group. It still prints on the kitchen ticket so the kitchen knows, for example, no onions.
