Steps
- Turn on bookings if needed. If Bookings isn't in the sidebar, tick Enable Bookings under Settings › Setting › Modules and click Update Settings.
- Open Bookings. Click Bookings in the back office sidebar. A calendar shows your bookings, with Today's Bookings listed beside it.
- Start a new booking. Click Add new booking, or double-click any day on the calendar.
- Pick the location and customer. Choose the Business Location and the Customer. Once a location is chosen, you can pick a table and service staff if those modules are on.
- Choose the staff member. Use Select correspondent to pick the staff member responsible for the booking.
- Set the time. Pick the Start time and End time.
- Add a note and confirmation. Add a Customer note, such as a birthday or high chair, and leave Send Email/SMS notification to customer ticked to send a confirmation.
- Save and manage it. Click Save. Click any booking on the calendar later to view it or change its status to Waiting, Booked, Completed or Cancelled.
Confirmations
The confirmation uses the New Booking template under Notification Templates. Email goes through your Email Settings and SMS through your SMS Settings, so set those up and test them first. The customer needs an email address or mobile number on their record.
Bookings work for more than tables. Salons and service businesses use the same screen for appointments, with the correspondent as the staff member.
