Run and read the Stock Adjustment Report

The Stock Adjustment Report totals the stock you wrote off. Go to Reports > Stock Adjustment Report (/reports/stock-adjustment-report), choose a location and use Filter by date. Four totals appear: Total Normal, Total Abnormal, Total Stock Adjustment and Total Amount Recovered. The Stock Adjustments table below lists each one with date, reference, location, type, amount, amount recovered, reason and who added it.

Steps

  1. Open the report. In the sidebar, open Reports and click Stock Adjustment Report. It needs the Stock Adjustment module and the stock report permission.
  2. Set location and dates. Pick a location at the top and click Filter by date to choose the period.
  3. Read the totals. Total Normal is everyday loss such as damage or spoilage; Total Abnormal is unusual loss such as theft or a flood; Total Stock Adjustment is both together; Total Amount Recovered is what you got back, for example from insurance or a supplier credit.
  4. Read the list. Each row has Date, Reference No, Location, Adjustment type, Total Amount, Total amount recovered, Reason and Added By. Use Action to view or delete an adjustment.
  5. Export. Use the buttons above the table: CSV or Excel downloads the rows you can see, Print opens a print view, Columns hides or shows columns, and PDF saves the table (offered in most back-office languages).

How it feeds profit

Total Stock Adjustment is subtracted in the Profit / Loss Report and Total Amount Recovered is added back, so this report explains part of the gap between gross and net profit. Normal and Abnormal are labels you choose when you record the adjustment; both reduce stock and profit the same way.

Export and print

Every table on this report has the same toolbar: CSV, Excel, Print, Columns and, in most back-office languages, PDF. The exports take the columns that are visible, so hide anything you don't need with Columns first. The totals row at the bottom of the table is included in the export.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between normal and abnormal adjustments?

Normal is for expected, everyday loss like breakage, spoilage or samples. Abnormal is for one-off events like theft, a power cut or a flood. Splitting them shows whether losses are routine or unusual. Both lower stock and profit in the same way.

Can I undo an adjustment from this report?

You can delete an adjustment from the Action column if your role allows it, which puts the stock back. It is usually clearer to record a new adjustment or a purchase so the history stays complete.
