Choose repair settings in SeroPOS

Repair › Settings (/repair/repair-settings) holds the module's set-up, on four tabs: Statuses, Devices, Device Models and Settings. The Settings tab sets the default product added to every repair, the barcode type for labels, the default job sheet status, the job sheet number prefix, your repair terms and conditions, the default problem, condition and configuration suggestions, and the labels for custom fields.

Steps

  1. Open repair settings. In the back office sidebar, click Repair, then Settings, and open the Settings tab.
  2. Pick a default product. Use Search default product to choose a product, such as a diagnostic fee, that's added automatically to every repair.
  3. Choose barcode and status. Set the barcode type for device labels and the Default Job Sheet Status for new job sheets.
  4. Set the job sheet prefix. Enter the Job sheet number prefix, such as JS-, for new job sheet numbers.
  5. Write your terms. Enter your Repair terms & conditions. They print on every job sheet above the signature blocks.
  6. Add default suggestions. Enter common problems, conditions and product configurations, separated by commas, so staff can pick them while filling in a job sheet.
  7. Name your custom fields. Set a label for each job sheet custom field you want to use, then save.

The other tabs

Statuses sets your repair workflow with colours, order, the complete flag and SMS templates. Devices and Device Models list what you repair and each model's pre-repair checklist.

Good to know

Only admins see the Settings link in the repair module. Repair is an add-on module. The Repair item shows in the back office sidebar when your subscription includes it and your role has the repair or job sheet permissions.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add my terms and conditions to job sheets?

Enter them in Repair terms & conditions on the Settings tab. They print on every job sheet with the customer and authorised signature blocks.

What is the default product for?

It's added automatically each time you add a repair, which suits a fixed check-in or diagnostic fee. Leave it empty if you don't charge one.

Why can't my manager see repair settings?

The Settings link in the repair module is shown to admins. Ask an admin to make the change, or give the manager the admin role.
