Steps
- Give the customer their number. Make sure the customer has their job sheet number from the printed job sheet, the SMS, or the invoice.
- Customer opens the page. The customer goes to the repair status page on your SeroPOS address.
- Customer enters the number. They type the Job sheet no. / Invoice no. into the search box.
- Add the serial if needed. If asked, they enter the device's Serial Number to confirm it's theirs.
- Customer sees the status. The page shows the brand, device, model and serial, the current repair status in its colour, the expected delivery date and the history of updates.
Keep it accurate
The page shows whatever status the job is in, so update statuses as work moves along. Colours come from Repair › Settings › Statuses, and the status names should make sense to a customer: Waiting for parts is clearer than an internal code.
The page answers the 'is my phone ready?' call without staff picking up the phone.
Good to know
The page is public and needs no login, so it shows the device, status, expected delivery date and updates only, not prices or payments. Repair is an add-on module. The Repair item shows in the back office sidebar when your subscription includes it and your role has the repair or job sheet permissions.
Frequently asked questions
Do customers need an account to check their repair?
No. They only need their job sheet or invoice number, and the serial number if the page asks for it.
Where do customers find their job sheet number?
It's on the printed job sheet and on the repair invoice. You can also include it in the SMS sent when the device is booked in.
Can a stranger look up someone else's repair?
They would need the exact job sheet or invoice number, and the serial number can be required as a second check.
