Arrange the QSR grid with drag and drop

Place every product exactly where your staff expect it. Long-press a category in QSR Mode, turn on Enable drag and save. The category's grid then opens in drag mode: drag each product button into the cell you want and tap Save Layout. Each category keeps its own layout, so drinks and mains can be arranged differently.

Enable drag: move each product into the exact cell you want, then Save Layout.

Steps

  1. Long-press the category. On the QSR screen, press and hold the category button.
  2. Turn on Enable drag. In the category's Button Style, turn on Enable drag (Turn on drag mode for arranging this category after saving).
  3. Set the grid size. Under Grid Layout, set Columns for this category if you want a different width from the default.
  4. Save the category. Tap Save. The grid opens with Drag product buttons into place, then save this category layout.
  5. Drag the products. Press and drag each product button into its cell. Leave gaps where you want them.
  6. Save Layout. Tap Save Layout. Tap Cancel to throw away the changes.

Grid types

A QSR category can use a fixed grid, filling buttons in order; a sectioned grid, grouped by price with Rows per section; or a drag-placed grid, where you decide each cell. Drag layout is best when muscle memory matters, for example when the same button should always be in the top left.

Add new products to the category and they appear in the next free cells. Open drag mode again to move them.

Frequently asked questions

Can I put the same product in two places?

No. Each product has one cell in its category's layout. If an item belongs in two categories, add it to both in the back office and place it in each category's grid.

How do I go back to an automatic grid?

Long-press the category, turn off Enable drag and save. The products go back to filling the grid in order, using your column and group settings.
