Add product warranties

Warranties record how long you cover a product after sale. Open Products › Warranties (/warranties), click Add, enter a Name, Description and Duration in days, months or years, and save. Pick the Warranty on each product. When it sells, the invoice can show the warranty name, its end date and the description, if your invoice layout has those options ticked.

On the sale

When you sell a product with a warranty, the warranty is stored with the sale line, and the invoice shows Warranty ends on with the date calculated from the sale date. Combine it with serial or IMEI numbers to match a returned item to its sale.

Frequently asked questions

How do I show the warranty on a receipt?

Edit the invoice layout under Settings › Invoice Settings and tick the warranty options. Any product with a warranty then prints its name, end date and description on that layout.

Can I record serial numbers with the warranty?

Yes. Tick Enable Product description, IMEI or Serial Number on the product. Staff can then add the serial number to the sale line, which prints on the invoice beside the warranty.
