Steps
- Open Brands. In the sidebar, open Products and click Brands.
- Add a brand. Click Add, enter the Brand name and a Short description if useful.
- Save. Click Save. The brand appears in All your brands.
- Assign it. On Add Product or Edit Product, choose the Brand. For many products at once, use Bulk Edit.
- Use it in reports. Filter List Products, the Stock Report, Trending Products or Profit by brands by brand to compare how each one sells.
Brand discounts
Discount rules can target a brand, so a supplier promotion such as 15% off one brand is a single rule. Set it under Sell › Discounts with the brand selected.
Turn brands on
If Brand is missing on the product form, tick Enable Brands in Settings › Setting › Product.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need brands?
Only if you report or discount by maker, as most retail stores do. Restaurants often leave brands off. Turn them on or off with Enable Brands in Settings › Setting › Product.
Can I add a brand while adding a product?
Yes. Click the + next to Brand on the Add Product form to add one without leaving the page.
