Steps
- Check the history first. Open Actions › Product stock history on the product to see whether a real sale, transfer or adjustment explains the number.
- Open Product Stock Details. In the back office, go to /reports/product-stock-details. The page needs an admin user.
- Find the product. Under Filters, type the product name or SKU in Search Product and pick it.
- Pick the location and search. Choose the Business Location and click Search.
- Compare the two figures. Read Correct Stock (total stock calculated from all movements) and Incorrect Stock (total stock available). If they match, there is no mismatch to fix.
- Click Fix. If they differ, click Fix on that row. The available stock is set to the calculated figure and you see Updated Successfully.
- Recount if needed. If the shelf still doesn't match, the movements themselves are wrong; record a stock adjustment after a physical count.
Fix or adjust
Fix corrects a quantity that has drifted from its own history. It doesn't add a movement. If your physical count differs from the calculated figure, that is real shrinkage or a missed purchase, so record a stock adjustment or purchase instead, so the history explains the change.
Signs of a mismatch
A sale stopping with a message about a mismatch between sold and available quantity, or a stock figure that doesn't match the product's stock history, both point here.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my product show the wrong stock in SeroPOS?
Usually a movement is missing or wrong, such as a purchase not marked received, a transfer not completed or a sale entered twice. Check Product stock history first. If the history is right but the quantity on hand isn't, use Product Stock Details and Fix.
Does Fix create a stock adjustment?
No. It resets the stored quantity to what the movements add up to. Use Stock Adjustment when you want to record a loss or a counted difference with a reason.
