Steps
- Open the order. Open the order popup when it rings, or from the bell icon (delivery orders) or the cloud icon (web and QR orders).
- Tap Cancel Order. Tap Cancel Order at the bottom of the popup.
- Pick a reason (delivery orders). For an Uber Eats order a list of reasons opens. Note the warning: Selecting a reason will immediately cancel the order.
- Confirm the result. Tap the reason that fits. The app shows Order cancelled successfully and the popup closes.
- Web and QR orders. In Web Order Received, Cancel Order cancels the catalogue order straight away and marks it Cancelled; no reason is asked.
Choosing a reason
Pick the reason that matches what happened; it is sent with the cancellation. If the problem is a single sold-out item, mark it out of stock first so the next customer can't order it.
- Store Closed or Store Busy: you can't take orders right now.
- Rider not available or Out of delivery radius: the delivery can't be made.
- Invalid item, Invalid option or Option out of stock: something on the order can't be made.
- Connectivity issue or Unspecified: anything else.
Frequently asked questions
Can I undo a cancelled order?
No. Tapping a reason cancels the order at once and there is no undo, so check with the kitchen before you choose. The customer would need to order again.
Why isn't Cancel Order available?
The buttons are disabled while the app is processing the order, for example just after you tapped Accept or View. Wait for it to finish, then reopen the order.
