Steps
- Open the order popup. When an Uber Eats order rings, the Food Delivery Order popup opens. You can also open it from the bell icon.
- Tap Mark Out of Stock. Tap Mark Out of Stock under the order.
- Tick the items. In Mark Items as Out of Stock, tick each item you can't make right now.
- Submit. Tap Submit, or Back to leave without changes. You must tick at least one item, or the app shows Please select at least one item.
- Check the confirmation. Out of stock items submitted successfully means the platform has been told.
- Decide on the order. If you can't make the order without those items, cancel it with a reason such as Option out of stock.
Good to know
The list shows only the items on the order you opened, so use it while you are looking at an order that includes the sold-out item. It needs an internet connection, the Food delivery platforms add-on module and a connected Uber Eats store; the direct integration is rolling out in Canada.
- This sends the change to the delivery platform; it doesn't hide the product on your own till.
- Tell the kitchen too, so in-store orders don't promise the item.
Frequently asked questions
Does marking an item out of stock remove it from my POS menu?
No. The change goes to the delivery platform for that item. Your own till keeps showing the product; hide or change it in Admin › Products if you want it off the in-store menu as well.
Can I mark an item out of stock without an order?
In the app, Mark Out of Stock is reached from a delivery order popup, so it lists the items on that order. Use it when an order comes in containing the sold-out item.
