Steps
- Get the server's details. On the server till, open Database Settings and note the address and access token under Server Information.
- Open Database Settings on the client. On the till you are adding, open the drawer, tap Admin, go to Tools and tap Server / Client Mode.
- Choose Client. Under Database Mode, pick Client (Connect to another device database). It needs the Pro plan.
- Enter the server address. Type the Server IP Address or URL. Leave Port at 19091 unless the server till was set to a different port.
- Enter the access token. Type the Access token exactly as shown on the server till.
- Test the connection. Tap Test Connection. If the server is reached but the token is wrong, you will see that the access token was rejected.
- Save. Tap Save Settings. The till switches to Client mode and connects to the server.
If the test fails
Check the client is on the same network as the server, not a guest Wi-Fi. Make sure the server PC is on and shows Server is running. Confirm the address matches what the server shows, and that Windows Firewall on the server allows SeroPOS.
A client till can also have its own card terminal. Set it in Admin › Tools › Card Terminal for This Till so card sales go to the machine beside it.
Frequently asked questions
Which devices can be clients?
Any device that runs SeroPOS: Android tablets and phones, iPads, Macs, other Windows PCs and the Global Payments T650P. All client tills need the Pro plan and the server's access token.
Do client tills need their own printers?
Printers are shared per location, so a network printer added once is available to every till after it syncs. A Bluetooth or USB printer only works with the device it is connected to.
