Help · Multi till and offline

Set up the server till

To make a Windows PC the main till, open Drawer › Admin › Tools › Server / Client Mode, choose Server in Database Settings and tap Save Settings. The server starts and shows the address and access token that other tills need. A setup window stays open for 24 hours so new tills can join; tap Lock Down Now once they have.

Steps

  1. Choose the PC. Use a Windows PC that stays on during trading and is wired to your router if possible. Give it a fixed IP address on your network.
  2. Open Database Settings. Open the drawer, tap Admin, go to Tools and tap Server / Client Mode.
  3. Choose Server. Under Database Mode, pick Server (Share local database with other devices). It is marked Windows Only and needs the Pro plan.
  4. Save to start the server. Tap Save Settings. The screen changes to Server is running.
  5. Note the details. Under Server Information, copy the address other devices should enter and the access token. Each client till needs both.
  6. Join the other tills. While the setup window is open, connect each client till. The window stays open for 24 hours.
  7. Lock down. When every till has joined, tap Lock Down Now. The screen confirms Locked down: only tills with the token can connect now.

Keep the token private

The access token lets a till read and write your shop's database. Keep it off customer-facing screens and do not share it outside the team that sets up tills. Locking down closes the setup window so a device that does not hold the token cannot join.

If Windows Firewall asks whether SeroPOS may accept connections on private networks, allow it, or client tills will not reach the server.

Frequently asked questions

Why is Server greyed out?

Server mode is only available on Windows devices and needs the Pro plan. On another device, or on the Standard plan, the option shows a message explaining what is missing. Upgrade from Drawer › Subscription to use it.

Can I add a till after locking down?

Yes. Enter the server's address, port and access token on the new till and tap Test Connection. Tills that hold the token can always connect; locking down only stops devices that do not have it.
