Convert a lead to a customer in SeroPOS

When a lead buys from you, turn them into a customer from their page in CRM › Leads. Open the lead with View Lead and click Convert to customer. The contact becomes a customer you can select at the POS and on invoices, and the lead's notes, documents and follow-up history come with them. CRM records who converted the lead and when, which feeds the lead-to-customer conversion report.

Steps

  1. Find the lead. Go to CRM › Leads and search or filter for the lead.
  2. Open the lead. Click View Lead to open their page with lead info, follow-ups and Documents & Note.
  3. Convert to customer. Click Convert to customer and confirm.
  4. Check the customer record. Open Contacts › Customers. The new customer is there with the lead's details and the note Converted to customer from leads.
  5. Sell to them. Select the customer at the POS or on a new invoice like any other customer.

Changing life stage without converting

If the lead is moving forward but hasn't bought yet, change their life stage instead: drag their card on the Kanban Board, or change the life stage from their page. Convert only once they are a paying customer, so your conversion report stays meaningful.

Good to know

The conversion report in CRM › Reports shows Converted By and Converted On for each conversion. CRM is part of the Pro plan. The CRM item shows in the back office sidebar when your subscription includes it and your role has the CRM permissions.

Frequently asked questions

Do I lose the lead's history when I convert?

No. The notes, documents and follow-ups recorded on the lead stay attached to the contact after conversion.

Who gets credit for the conversion?

The user who clicks Convert to customer is recorded as Converted By, with the date. CRM › Reports uses this for the lead-to-customer conversion figures per staff member.

Can I add follow-ups after converting?

Yes. Follow-ups can be scheduled for customers as well as leads, so you can keep in touch after the first sale.
