Steps
- Open Recent Transactions. Open the drawer and tap Recent Transaction. Editing needs internet.
- Find the sale. Search by invoice number or customer and tap SEARCH.
- Tap Edit Sale. Tap Edit Sale on the sale. If your role doesn't allow it, Approval Required opens for a manager's login.
- Make the change. The sale loads into the cart. Change items, quantities, discounts or the customer as needed.
- Complete the sale. Finish from the cart as usual, taking or adjusting payment on the pay screen.
- Check the result. Search for the invoice again in Recent Transactions to confirm the change and its status.
Edit, void or refund?
Edit a sale when something on it is wrong, such as an item rung by mistake or the wrong customer. To give money back for a whole sale, use Void Sale or Refund Sale instead. To return one item, use the Return toggle on a cart line.
- Needs the Edit Completed Sale permission (Sales & Transactions group).
- Needs internet, because the sale is loaded from the server.
- Card changes still run on the terminal; check the payment on the pay screen.
Frequently asked questions
Who can edit a completed sale?
Users whose role has Edit Completed Sale ticked in POS Access. Others can still do it once if someone with that access enters their Login ID and Password in Approval Required.
Can I edit a sale while offline?
No. Recent Transactions and Edit Sale read the sale from the server, so the till needs an internet connection.
