POS for hotel restaurants
A hotel restaurant serves two crowds: guests coming down for breakfast and outside diners booked for dinner. SeroPOS runs the dining room with tables, kitchen tickets and a breakfast menu, and the Hotel add-on keeps room bookings in the same account, so one set of reports covers rooms and food.

The dining room
The restaurant side works like any full-service room. Draw the dining room and bar in the Floor Plan Designer on the Pro plan, with tables showing available, occupied or processing and the server's name on each. Orders are held on the table, added to through the meal, and only new items print to the kitchen. Bills can be split evenly, by item or by custom amounts.
Multiple User tags each order with its server, and roles control who can take payment, discount or void. Tips entered on a Global Payments or Moneris terminal print on the receipt. A service charge can be attached to the Dine-in service type as a fixed amount or a percentage, and it appears separately on the Daily Sales Report.
Breakfast service
Create a Breakfast POS menu from your breakfast categories and a Dinner menu from the rest. Pills at the top of the till switch between them, so the morning team sees only what the kitchen is cooking. If breakfast is a buffet at a set price, sell it as a single product, with a child's price as a variation, and ring it per guest as they sit.
Hotels that include breakfast in the room rate can add it as a room extra in the Hotel module instead, charged per person per day on the booking. Kitchen tickets route by category, so eggs to order print at the line while barista drinks print at the coffee station, and Quantity First speeds up tables of four ordering the same thing.
Rooms in the same account
The Hotel add-on module adds room management to the back office. Set up room types with maximum adults, children and occupancy, unique room numbers, amenities and photos. Prices are set per night for each weekday, with special prices by number of adults and children. Bookings record arrival and departure, the rooms, extras, discounts or coupons, and payments, and print as a PDF.
The dashboard shows rooms booked today, guests arriving and leaving, and availability by type, and the calendar shows every room's availability by date. Rooms can be blocked for a date range. Extras such as parking or breakfast are charged per day, per booking, per person or per person per day, and a new-booking email can go to the guest automatically.
Guests, bills and reporting
The restaurant till and the room bookings share one customer list, so a guest's restaurant sales and room booking sit in the same back office. SeroPOS does not post restaurant bills to a room folio automatically. Most hotel restaurants take payment at the table; if you let guests settle at checkout, put the meal on the guest's account with the Credit tender and collect it with the room balance.
Hotel booking totals feed the core Profit and Loss report alongside restaurant sales, and the Hotel module's reports show bookings, guests, nights and amounts by status for any date range. The restaurant keeps its own Daily Sales Report, Table Report and Service Staff Report, so food and beverage results can be read on their own.
Frequently asked questions
Can I run the hotel restaurant and room bookings in one system?
Yes. The SeroPOS app runs the restaurant, and the Hotel add-on module manages rooms, prices, bookings, extras and availability in the same back office. Both share one customer list and feed the same Profit and Loss report, so rooms and food are read together or apart.
Can restaurant bills be charged to a guest's room?
There is no automatic room folio posting. You can put a meal on the guest's customer account with the Credit tender, within a credit limit, and collect it at checkout with Receive Payment. Most hotel restaurants simply take payment at the table.
How do I charge for breakfast included with a room?
In the Hotel module, create a Breakfast extra and charge it per person per day on the booking. For walk-in breakfast in the restaurant, sell it on the till as a product or from a separate Breakfast POS menu, with a child's price as a variation if you need one.
Does the hotel module have online booking?
No. Bookings are entered by staff in the back office, with an email confirmation to the guest. There is no public booking engine. Rooms can be blocked for a date range and the availability calendar shows what is free on any date.
What does a hotel restaurant need from SeroPOS?
Pro at $50 a month covers the floor plan designer, server and client multi-till and advanced reports for the restaurant. The Hotel room booking module is a separate add-on. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, no card needed.
